We have a 2015 6504 & our slide does not go flush either. We also have the little lip on the bottom bunk slide, but because we do not use the dinette as a bed getting it in & out is not an issue for us.
The table is a PITA. It is heavy, awkward, and not very stable. We are about a month into a 2+ month road trip in our Vibe, and while I appreciate the prep area when I'm cooking a meal, the whole thing (including the cushions not being flush & the back cushions not staying up) is not very well designed.
For example, our table legs are positioned such that there is a larger space on one end of the table, which I suppose is meant to provide more room to access the bottom bunk when the table is in place. This means one of is is eating & using our laptop whilst seated at the very edge of our seat. I can add some cushions & what what - but it is an example of a lot of things that don't seem very well thought out.
We do not have slide covers, and it rained for most of the first three weeks of our trip. We have not had an issue with water or leaks (knock wood).
I would like to do some kind of modification on the table, especially since we don't use the bed. I'm not very handy, but ready to do something that is more workable.
I still dig my Vibe overall, it's treated us well, but our biggest complaint is that there are several design issues (like the slide not being flush & the table) that are pretty silly.
