Faucet won’t shut off in bath area

There appears to be no problem with the hose, but water runs from the faucet. I’ve taken it apart, but can’t figure out how to remove the valve. There is also a leak where the water connects to the toilet. Can’t understand why there are no shut off valves in rvs! Any suggestions?

Remove the RV plastic junk and go to HD/Lowes and get a better one for about $25-$35.

1st post... Welcome!

Sounds like maybe you've experienced some freeze issues?
Both the faucets and the toilet valve are prime issues for cracking.

Installing shut-offs would add cost. Even though very little, you won't get anything 'extra' that would make any sense on today's R/V's.

Yes, it’s the first time in three years! The previous owner used it once. She said she didn’t use the water system, but I suspect the dealer had tested it and not adequately drained it since it was purchased in the spring.
I would like to teplace it with something better, but had better get a plumber as I don’t have the tools for this kind of pipe.

You shouldn't need a plumber, unless adding shutoff valves and even so you could use Sharkbite slip on fittings, for the shut offs. (I've not used them) The faucets and pipes use threaded fittings.

I've replaced both my bath and kitchen faucets with Moen that were in sale. Simply unscrew, swap, screw tight.

Usually you don't need any tools. Hand-tight on the fittings is enough. (You usually don't need a wrench to tighten the mechanical mounting on the faucet either.

Look at this picture:
Two big plastic nuts screw up the outsides of those threaded brass tubes to hold the faucet to the sink. Hand tight or maybe a little help with a pliers. You shouldn't be able to move the faucet around on the sink.

Then two white plastic cap-nuts (already on the plumbing in the trailer) screw onto the ends of those same threaded tubes. Hand tight is good enough. Be sure to mark the tubes before you take them off the old faucet. Hot is on the left.

Take a good look at the bottom of the faucet you have--maybe take some cellphone pictures--and make sure the new one looks the same.

Thanks so much! I can’t believe how helpful you all are. I bought a new faucet and will give it a go tomorrow.

The pump or the external water supply IS the shutoff.
Like others have said; new faucete are cheap and better from Lowes, Home Depot
