Furrion dvd player gone in 2019 RPods?

Hi,

I just took delivery of a 2019 RPod 176 and the Furrion entertainment system no longer has a slot for dvd/cd. This seems to be a change from previous model years I've seen. Can anyone confirm if this is a change FR made or is it just me?

Follow-up: any suggestions on a small blu ray/dvd player that I can install in the RPod?

Thanks,

--Ryan

Unless you already have a TV, purchase a TV with a built in DVD player...if those even still exist.

Nice unit I just bought a friend of mine. Pretty small unit, does a nice job and streams also.

Furrion dvd player gone in 2019 RPods?

You could always go to amazon and buy a full unit that has the radio/Bluetooth, and dvd in it and replace the one that is there. Your unit was probably just ordered without dvd/ and some other items to get unit into price range the dealer wanted it to be in.

Here is example.

Or you could hook up an exterior separate Blue Ray to run through speakers and tv, it will have better sound and picture.

That's what I did, I bought a dual 110v/12v TV with a built in DVD player.
They will soon be extinct like the VCR.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Come to think of it, there may not be enough cabinet depth for a head unit that accepts cd/dvd.

(2min later...)

yeah, the little box above the TV that all of the control panels and head unit are mounted to is only about 3.5" deep, so that must be why there's no disc player.

I'll have to get an external player and run the cable if I decide to go that route.

Thanks again.

Welcome to the forum. In our 2018 RP-180 the bigger Furrion fit just fine where the smaller one is now for several years... The change is most likely because FR saved over a $50 to $100 per rig by replacing the DVD player version. Not that they passed on those savings to the end customer...
