Looking at an r-pod but have questions

Does the tent close up 100%

Can the interior kitchen be removed?

How hard is leveling?

what model are you looking at because only one has a canvas tent end?

leveling a single axle trailer is easy if you use use a BAL Leveler.

don't know about the kitchen but i doubt it.

I meant the tent you can buy for the outside.

The outdoor kitchen with bunks

The outdoor tent detaches and folds up... Much like a tent. Interior kitchen cannot be detached... Not sure I ever heard of that one (just buy a 182G, as it had an outdoor kitchen). Leveling is very easy... I mostly used the BAL leveler... It doubles as a wheel chock for the low side (I always chocked both sides).

100%; no the Rdome closes up pretty nicely but not 100%. it will keep some bugs out, but not most. it will however keep you pretty darn dry if you're all zipped up and cozy, and with a smallish heater you can warm your dome up nice and toasty on colder mornings as well.

remove the kitchen? sure if you wanted to, i took out the stove in mine to give more counterspace and am putting the stove in the garage of my 181g. you can modify an pod to be most anything you want. you'd be amazed what owners have done to them.

leveling a Pod, super easy. we like and have used a BAL leveler for 4 years now and it's perfect with our Pod.

I exclusively cook in my garage when possible. We were just talking the other day if we wanted to move the convection oven/microwave back there as well but probably won't.

With some modifying the garage models can easily turn into very functional outdoor kitchens. They just need some help.

because the Rpod has electric brakes, you're required by law to have one, in order for them to work.

Prodigy is the best selling BC.

Newbie here- What is a "BAL leveler"?
We camp in a field where it's hard to completely level everything. It can be done, but we want to make sure we aren't damaging the rpod.

It is very slick, indeed. Loved not having to guess the height to level. One suggestion, however. I used a small piece of deck board to back the wheel up onto first. Just need a 1/2" or so... This makes sliding the leveler in before you raise it and back out after lowering much easier. Don't lay it longways or you can slide the leveler in... Just the width of the board is sufficient. Sometimes you need it, sometimes not... Depends on the ground you have to work with.

Thanks for the tip, I will definitely take your suggestion. Our first outing with the new 179 is Memorial Day and we are very excited!
