Maiden voyage

Taking our R-171 on its maiden voyage to Idyllwild. Towed by a 2014 Ram 1500 Big Horn. We shall see how we do.

Should have no problem. A month ago I pulled our new 179 with our little Red jeep liberty. I made the climb from Banning, 1500 feet to 7200 feet in 23 miles. I stayed there for 6 days at the 1000 trails campground while wife went to a conference. Snowed the first night (all was gone by noon). The rest of the week it was just beautiful. When I lived in San Diego, I used to ride the M/C up a couple times a year, great ride and great view.

I pull Mia Pod with a 2006 Jeep Liberty and don't even know it's there. I suspect you'll find the same. I do have stabilizer bars.

All went well, great campground. Thousand Trails in Idyllwild. Had a great time avoiding the Memorial Weekend crowds. Click image for larger version

Idyllwild 1000 trails is a great campground, clean restrooms great hot showers. I have stayed a few times when the wife has her conferences. Plus some good food in town. Its well kept up and I have not seen the trash that seems to homestead in some of the other1000 trails. When we left this year we went out the other way on hwy 74, then down to San Diego for a week before heading off to AZ. While I was at Cottonwood I checked the 1000 trails just south of town, just might stay there for a couple months next winter.
