Mud flaps for hood river rpod

Looking for suggestions/comments about installing mud flaps on my high clearance rpod. Should I, and if so are there best ways to go abaout doing it? I live and explore where there are dirt roads so want to reduce mud thrown up to windows behind wheels. Would like to protect the plumbing behind the left wheel too. And it would be good to reduce chances of throwing rocks up when on many gravel patches that are a part of the highways here in Alaska and Yukon Territory.

I went to the auto parts store and bought a single truck mud flap (semi truck size). Cut it into two pieces and screwed them to a frame member behind the rear tires. Works great and was cheap. I paid about $12 for the mud flap.
