Problem with TV and Cable

Cable was working on the TV in the RPOD until my son changed out the bracket that attaches to the TV. Ever since then we cannot get cable to work when we are at a campground. Any thoughts. I don't see any reason why it will not work. I select Source and TV and go to Menu and select Channel and Cable and then do an auto scan. I should have about 50 channels and instead I get 5 and all have some picture breakup.

Any help would be appreciated.

Karen

Bracket as in wall mount?

My first thought would be its not cable that your on its the antenna so your scanning the wrong source.
When using the antenna it is OTA or DTV air something like that.
I'm not at the trailer so I'm not 100% sure what the options are.
If the scan gives you a choice try scanning "all".

Other than that check you antenna switch is on and your cables Are connect d properly to the TV.

Yes the bracket as in wall mount. We wanted one that tilted downward. Since then no luck on cable.

All the connections are tight and when it scans it looks like it's running through all the channels on the list at the RV park.

Sorry for the maybe the silly questions but sometimes when texting the intended meaning is sometimes misintupretted as something else, just like this statement

Anyway are you actually on cable as in you connect one end of the coaxial cable to say the pedestal and the other end to the trailer, if so maybe try powering the antenna amplifier off.

If you are receiving signals via the antenna make sure the antenna amplifier is ON.

If all that is good then maybe have another look and make sure ALL cables are connected and properly.

Final thought, if you are on actual cable maybe the campsite has a problem.

Odds are it will be a simple thing that your going to kick yourself over.
(Kick hard)

I've tried disconnecting the cable and going with antenna and doing the auto search I get the same 8 channels I get with cable. I've disconnected and reconnected the cables. I've powered off the antenna amplifier. This is the second campground we've been at that had cable that we could not get to work. I really don't think it's their cable. The only change that has been made was to change out the bracket to one that tilts. So when we reconnected it did we do something wrong; however I've disconnected and reconnected everything there. White goes to white, red to red and yellow to yellow and the connections for the cable are correct. I can play DVD's without a problem. When we were in Denver a couple of weeks ago I was able to use the antenna without a problem, but no cable.

My vote would be for a bad coax cable end at the tv.....I'd cut it off and replace the end...or, if there's a 90 degree coupler there, temp. by-pass it..

I'm thinking that could be it as well. It could have been damaged when the bracket was replaced. I'll try that when we get back home and see if that takes care of the problem.

Is that possible?(Cable end I mean not the 90). Why would some channels come through but not all of them?
Usually with cable when you get one you get them all.
May as well try it, either that was it or its elimanated.

With only 8 channels at 2 camp sites I'm thinking maybe only your antenna is receiving channels and somewhere it's not switched to cable.

Is there a antenna/cable switch somewhere?

I'm grasping at straws here.

Oh, I just thought, some TVs have 2 threaded connections at the back. One is CATV and the other is an out to a component. Make sure your coax is in the CATV. More straws.

We go to one campground that supplies cable where main tv will program but bedroom tv needs one of their converter boxes.

Ok today we got to a new campground and I tried to get the cable to work. Still no luck. This time I bypassed the interior cable hook up and used a different coax cable that I know works. Connected it to the wall and to the TV. Still can't get the correct cable channels. For some reason it is still only pulling from the antenna. It's almost as if it needs a reset to pull through cable channels.

Year and model of the Rpod? I used to have one and would like to help.

I recall there being two coax connections behind/above the TV, one for SAT and one for Cable. Maybe try swapping.

And the TV is set for cable....? How about hooking up from pedestal direct to TV, and not using any other cable....skip trailer wiring for now...

cABLE CONNECTIONS

Do you have a 90° elbow on the back of the TV where the cable connects to TV? I had a problem with mine where it was the 90° elbow was bad. A small wire in the elbow was broken. Lowes carries the elbow.
Try removing the elbow, connect the coax direct to the TV.

Some TV's can be reset by disconnecting power cord for a few minutes.

To switch between Antenna and cable you must find the power supply/source switcher button on the wall plate.

Push till power light comes ON -> source is roof antenna
Push till power light goes OFF -> source is cable TV

Once you have selected a source; you still need to search for channels.
