Re: leaving Pod at RV park during the week

Hello-
We’re planning on taking the Pos to a campsite for a couple of week, but will just be using it on weekends.
Typically we plan on getting there Friday and leaving on Sunday..questions are, when leaving the Pod for the week, I’m assuming we leave it plugged in, fridge and all, but what about the tanks..do we flush both or just leave them for the week and flush upon returning?
If so, would you shut the water going to the camper?

Flush before leaving best idea. No Stinky on Return and no harmful chemicals to overcome a wee of decaying waste in the tanks.

I would shut the water off. The sun could burst the hose or.....A leak or other failure is possible and may be a mess upon your your return. I know a few people that turn the water off if they were only gone a couple of hours.

I'd empty both tanks and flush the black tank... Then add five gallons of water and a chemical pack to the black.

As far as leaving it connected to power that shouldn't be an issue. Our last motor home was plugged in to shore power all the time in storage. I'd be a bit nervous about leaving an external power protection device hanging out for a week.

I always turn off the water if we are going to be gone any length of time. I had the small clean water hose come off a toilet and flood the rear of a trailer. I came back to a nice waterfall coming out under the door and down the steps...

I would shut water off and turn water heater off. Also turn circuit breakers to only what is needed. Waste tanks I would monitor and dump as required. It doesn't seem productive to dump 1/4 fill tanks. BTW - secure the trailer, ball locks and such. Put your campsite stuff away.

I ALWAYS shut off water, when leaving RV alone. SOP for me.ESPECIALLY if the campground warns you of high water pressure, when you check in.
