towing with f150

We have a 2017 Model 179 Rpod and are towing with a 2017 f150. The hitch that was put on will not allow us to lower the tail gate when the unit is attached.
We currently have an E2 Round Bar sway hitch.

Suggestions!

If your jack is interfering with the tailgate, some folks have rotated the jack:

LCI smart jack head rotation

Thanks, thought of that, but can't do it with the type hitch we have. Have thought of an extender, but are afraid that it would not be safe. Looked at other jacks, but a top crank won't clear the propane cover in the back.

A rather expensive option. Hensley and Propride hitches both add distance from the trailer to the TV as part of their design.

I'll let you do a search on the MANY discussions of the pro/con of them. There is at least one thread that has been active in the last two days on them.

Don't understand what the jack has to do with the hitch.

The hitch brings the trailer too close to the TV so the tailgate hits the jack when lowered.

jd50i: I had suggested rotating the jack (see 1st quote above). Many people have done this to address the "too close to the TV" issue. While rotating the jack may not resolve the issue, depending on jack style, rotating the jack has nothing to do with the hitch itself. So again, I'll state that I don't understand margie41's response.

BTW: Here are some more threads on rotating jacks:

Rotate nose jack so tailgate will open

Rock wood 8329SS-anyone rotated the electric tongue jack?

Maybe she will provide pictures.
