I didn't try a 400 watt but did try a 175 watt. It worked fine until I started the generator and fried the inverter. The converter puts out a pretty variable DC output that my cheap inverter didn't like and it went up in smoke.

You will be under the power limit of the power outlet (with your TV and box) so it should work fine.

Check you TV and box for input voltage. My TV had an AC transformer that converted to 12 VDC. I found a 12 volt power cable that allows me to plug into the 12 volt power outlet. The DirecTV box may be the same.

I do and it seems to work well at the power requirements I needed; laptop use, charge phones, edema leg pump machine.

Will get a photo today.

I know the 12 volt outlet beside my television made by Winegard isn't rated for a whole lot. I think it is like 7.5 amps (90 watts) DC if I remember correct.

I believe he is talking about the Accessory ports in his truck.
Mine (all 3 - two in dash; one in console) are wired for 20 amps each (240 Watts each).

If you find you need more power (since mine are home run wired and each has its own fuse), a pigtail connecting the two dash ports together (with appropriately sized wire and fuse) could be used to get the full 400 Watts from the inverter, if needed.

Its the 12v outlet by the tv hook ups in the toy hauler that I am referring to. Was just using the 400 watt inverter for an example. Will probably not use an inverter that big since TV and Satellite receiver only use 60 watts together.

Oh. In that case, 400 is way overkill. Max is 72 Watts.
