Tech help.. not so much a thread.
I'm new to the Forum and wasnt sure where my question should be posted as this area says it for threads? This is the only place i could find to post a little "please help" question.
Here it goes.
We recently purchased a used 2010 3215 srs Sandstorm fifth wheel. While walking the trailer over with the owner, older but very nice, he could not answer a few questions about random toggle switches I noticed on the trailer.
One of the toggle switches is mounted underneath the frame just in front of the fuel pump at the rear of the trailer. I have an on/off switch inside the trailer so I'm not sure what its for??
The second toggle switch is mounted in the front compartment where the propane tanks are mounted as well as the generator if i had one. The wires to and from the toggle switch both run up and go up towards the overhang sleeper then towards the front of the trailer. If the battery is on there is 12v to the switch. When the battery is switched the 12v slowly drains to 0v. I attached photos of this switch for reference. Also i checked under the bed and in the cabinets and nothing is there as far as wires are concerned.
The photo on the left is where the wires run from the toggle switch. Also when you are looking up at the wires, left would be towards the overhang and to the right would be towards the stairs leading out of the bedroom.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I can't really help you other than bump up this thread. The toggle switch in the picture looks more like a modification that was made by a previous owner. I've never seen a toggle switch like that installed at the factory. Perhaps a Sandstorm owner might chime in and be able to help you.

Whenever someone replies, it bumps this to the top of the recent lists list. That way more people see it. Forum etiquette dictates that you can reply just to bump it yourself about once a day.
I agree, that looks like an add on switch. Can't hear or see anything changing? Have someone that you can put into the bedroom and observe as you toggle the switch?

The first switch you mentioned is the emergency shut off for the fuel pump for your fuel station. It's for just in case you have a problem while filling a machine you have a shut off outside and don't have to run to the inside. I actually turn my switch on inside and then go out flip the outside switch every time so the pump is not running while I'm not standing their. The other switches I don't know. Sorry

That makes sense. Thanks. As for the second when I shake it I can hear it above my head towards the king pin. Could it be power to the emergency break?

It could do that, but the only noise you should hear are the magnets hitting the drums at the wheels.
But it's great that it makes a noise, now just a matter of chasing it down!

Post #1 leads me to prior owner placed/used the front switch to activate the E brakes ,to use as (Parking brakes),a very Big (No No)! The hint is when switch is On the Batt.runs Down. With a (6) brake system that is a lot of Draw. Any switch in the E brake other than the (Pull to Activate) is a Dangerous situation! Youroo!!

Switch in Propane area
The switch may turn on the front area light
My light was broken when I received my rig. Your light could also be broken making it difficult to figure out what the switch does.

Ok so did a little test....it's not an E brake and I don't have a front area light. Switch sends power to something ... I just have no idea what...

There are LED lights up on the front cap for hitching up in the dark. I believe that switch turns them on/off. (I have the same model, and my light works).
They don't mention anything about it in any documentation...

I'll send some other pictures l. I don't think I have led hitch lights? I've never seen any anyway. Would I be making a mistake if I take off the lap siding underneath the fifth wheel over hang to chase the wire down or is it more difficult than I'm thinking.

GeeDubb is correct. I believe there are 5 LED's where he circled his front end. All 3215srs's have it. Lights up the front end for looks or for hooking up at night. Hope this helps. Nice trailer GeeDubb!
