1000 watt Inverter question.

For my 2015 Palomino Puma 32DBKS I bought a 1000 watt DC to AC inverter to power my outside kitchen refrigerator for a 3 hour trip. If I turn off all circuits except the one for the refrigerator, can I plug in my trailer's shore power cord into the inverter. Below is a picture of my power panel. How would I prevent the trailer's power converter from attempting to charge the battery, or is this not a concern if I turn off all breakers except the outside refrigerator circuit?

1000 watt Inverter question.

The converter has a breaker that you shut off

Also, as I found out, there are few actual circuit in the trailer. You want the outside fridge, you will get a lot more powered.

Ahhhhh, ok, I would switch the 15 amp CONVT to off with the other unneeded circuits. Thanks!

When I did my inverter, I used a sub panel.

Only pulled four circuits from the main panel, and am powering almost the whole trailer.

Yes, I planned on doing something more permanent than just plugging the umbilical cord into it but my trip starts tomorrow morning and I just got my trailer back from the dealer yesterday, replaced the inside Dometic refrigerator. It was under warranty. That leaves me a few hours to pack, and get the trailer ready. Thanks for your reply.

What about the fuses? Take them out also or just shut off the breakers?

The fuses are your 12v dc side.
Leave them be

Here's my sub panel.
I needed to run a few more circuits than you require.
Not quite finished cleaning it all up.
Waiting for one more component.

Hi,

Because I was concerned about eventual breaker failure from using it as a switch, I simply unplugged my converter, and plugged it into a switched power bar that is plugged into that circuit. Tap a rocker switch and the converter is off: tap it again and it's back on when I need it to be operating.

FWIW.

Keep in mind... You will get little to nothing off the tow vehicle to charge.

I run both fridges on electric, through the the inverter while driving.
I do have 450ah of battery though.
With that... After about a 4 hour drive, I'm at 75-80% SOC.

Wow, ok, I have a 23 amp hour 140 minute battery. My refrigerator is 115v/60hz and running amps is 1.1 and start up amps is 4. With nothing else running ideally I would be able to run the refrigerator for 23 hours? I have 1 small computer fan running on the inside refrigerator that will be running on gas. I am only looking for 3 hours travel time then hooked up to shore power. I understand my TV will not charge the battery. Do I stand a good chance of success?

No.
Way too small to run an inverter of that size, for any length of time.

Although. Before I had my inverter, even a three hour ride, the outside fridge was still plenty cold.
As long as it cold when you start.

That is 1.1A on 115VAC, which means that the converter will be drawing 12-14ADC from the battery. As you do not want to draw the battery down over 50%. The battery will last about 1hr.

Different tow vehicles will provide drastically different charging current. Don't rule out what help that might be. While it most likely will not keep up with the draw of the refrigerator, it might not let the battery go as low as predicted. JMHO

There's still not a tow vehicle that I've ever seen that has 4ga running to the back.

Until I do that to mine.....

Was size alternator in your Ram? Doesn't the subwoofer required to listen to the CBC vinyl cafe reruns take a lot of juice while driving to the park?
