I have ran a 15k ac off and Honda 3000 for years with no problems. Every once in awhile, it will over load the generator but that's because of other stuff running in the heat of the day with the head pressure built up on the AC. I have also ran it off a 15 amp circuit and extension cord at my house with no problems. You just need a heavy gauge cord. If I remember correctly, the fan pulls less than 3 amps and the compressor is about 13. 16 amps X 120 volts = <2000 watts. It will spike when the head pressure is high but 3000 is plenty. On that note though, I did go from a 3000 to tandem 2000 just so I could run whatever I wanted.
