I can sense your frustration! I imagine the gravity fed inlet is not checked at the factory or the dealer. It is my impression that only the pressurized water inlet and the LP gas lines are checked for leaks via pressure readings.
Look on the bright side. Imagine a slow water leak that was not picked up and created a lot of grief down the road. Still, for the price you pay for these units, you certainly expect these problems not to happen. Hope you have smooth sailing after this resolution!

no check valve on the tank fill that i have ever seen , I did pull about half my Panel loose in the main storage compartment and the fresh water fill up went up hill because they routed it over the city fill line, it was a easy fix

What happened during the PDI? I'm just curious. We're going to take delivery of a CC and hope they check all systems before cutting the proverbial umbilical cord!

Ask them to fill the tank with fresh water also...try the water pump at that time yourself...fire -up the water heater...i trusted my dealer and thought... (assumed) they had checked the fresh water -fill..didnt happen...

Had that problem with mine. Water in the vent line. Put an air hose against the little vent screen by the water fill and blew it out.

I always take an old hose and cut about 10" piece off of the end. Now you only have one fitting on one end and none on the other end. It allows you to stick the hose down into the fill tube about 10", seems work for me

I had the same problem with my Crusader 270ret. I shorted and straightened the fill hose. It corrected the problem. Primetime needs to correct this problem on the line. It is a common problem with these units.

I agree, a good PDI should have caught this. The dealer where we bought both our campers does a very good check of all systems, including filling the fresh tank, running the pump, and checking that all water fixtures are in working order. I think a good PDI at the dealer may cost them a little more in people time, but sure does make a difference in happier customers. We have bought 2 different TT from the same dealer and have had NO problems at all, with either of them with factory or quality issues.

Glad you got it fixed, but hate that you had to go through the frustration. It certainly is not unreasonable to expect the major systems (water, LP, sewer, appliances) to work properly when you get a new TT.

I checked mine today and it looks OK. I can see where it could be an issue though. Pretty jumbled back there.

I have been told it takes 8-10 hours to assemble a unit depending on options! Definitely an efficient assembly line. Maybe too efficient in some cases when problems are not detected during factory testing. Our current unit checked out well during our first trip. But I can tell you that our previous trailer did not check out so well.

If the worse you find is a fill tube cut too long you've done well. The unit is built by human hands - I've seen new homes fail for much worse during the occupancy permit inspection.

Had the same issue with mine (actually still do). Mine luckily filled to 1/3 so I could use the FW. Mind you I'm not going to blow a gasket and condemn Prime Time for it. Yikes...

There have been different 7 defects found with our 2014 Crusader 325 ...so.far... We paid over 40k for it... Prime Time...Forest River...The RV factories .. in general... should be ashamed of themselves...if this ...is the best... that they can do on quality levels

This is my 6th RV and I've purchased some used and some new and you know what, GASP, they have ALL had issues. All of them. The same with my vehicles, ALL have had issues.

I have established a relationship with both my dealer and by extension the manufacturer and the issues I've experienced with my Prime Time unit have been resolved and the new ones are in the process of being resolved.

I feel as though my Prime Time unit is the highest quality RV that I have ever owned. Then again I expect it would be since the price I paid reflects that. If the issues that I had were not dealt with in a timely manner, then perhaps I'd think differently, but they have been.

Hello fellow newfie. If your expectations are set to accept low quality workmanship, that is fine. Dretired is stating that his issues are not defective materials but poor workmanship or little ot no quality control. This is not acceptable in this day and age and in particular when thousands of dollars are spent. I agree with him wholeheartedly. No consumer should lower their expectations on issues that could have easily been resolved by quality control or improved workamship. I probably would "blow a gasket" too if I experienced the same lack lustre quality.

My expectations are certainly not lowered to accept low quality workmanship. Quite the opposite. I expect my Prime Time product to perform at a very high level and thus far it has. Do I expect some issues with RV's? Yes I do. I also expect that my dealer handle them quickly and professionally.

To each their own. I do hope that the OP has many many years of fantastic experiences in his Prime Time product and he never experiences a single issue with it again, then again I know better... I'll bow out of this thread now and go camp...

As someone who has sold into the RV market, I'm very aware of how this business operates. This was very evident when we toured the Prime Time plant in Waukarusa this winter - kind of scary to be honest, but it is what it is. It's the same in all the other RV manufacturing facilities, and I knew this going in with eyes wide open.
This market is highly competitive and you can purchase quality levels from high to low as everyone knows. Basically you get what you pay for and that is why we chose our Crusader.
There have been several issues with my new 5er and I have been personally addressing these in the past month before we take it out for it's maiden voyage. I fully expected this and was not disappointed. All of this (plus this forum) has helped educate me about my FR product and I feel much more confident with it as a result.

Over all, We're still very pleased with our decision and wish every new Prime Time owner a good experience with their purchase.
