2009 SVF306BH Surveyor 5th Wheel

Hi

any others having issues with the laminate pulling away from the plywood, or seperation of the panels in general.

Im going back to the dealer we bought it from this week.

Rather sad actually. This is the 4th camper we have owned, and by far the worst "money pit"!

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
Sorry to see you have issues with your rig.
Definitely a Delamination issue from a water leak.
How long have you owned the rig?

yeah first thing i went to was the roof. Bought some sealant from our local RV shop close by and went over all roof hatches, AC,etc... to seal it up.

Too bad you're out of warranty. We had the whole back end replaced because the manufacturer didn't seal the rear window.

no. did that about every 2.5 to 3 years. Just laid to it when i saw this happening.

every other year applied the spray for the rubber roof...basic maintenance for rubber roof...etc.

it also stays covered with a camper cover...replace cover whenever its not cutting it.

kinda common sense. pmcs

Sorry to hear you were unable to get up on the roof before it decided to leak.
Unfortunately, as you know now, you should inspect the roof several times a year when parked, even more when traveling.
The bad news is, it can't be fixed now. Live with it (now that it is sealed), trade or sell as is.

Ps. I know delam stinks, my first trailer did, lost my butt on trade. My second one never leaked a drop, I inspected that roof once a month. My new one will get Eternabond on every seam, hole, vent, antenna ect. so it never leaks either. Also, you must check anything that goes through the skin... lights, plugs, door holders, screws, wires. It is a constant fight.

im sorry but i do not think i should have to resurface a 30k camper roof every other month just so it lasts me 7 years.

The best camper i ever owned was a 1978 Jayco Pop up. And yes im salty about the situation. I will find out more info Monday.

I understand, you would not think you would have to but unfortunately you found out what happens if you don't. I wish you the best of luck with the dealer.

Are you sure that was caused by a roof leak? In that location I would suspect a failed seal on edge molding or something like that. Its possible to have delam without a leak. sometimes the glue just fails. In that area I would consider redoing it with diamond plate (or a plastic diamond plate looking material).
