2015 Flagstaff Super Lite 26FKWS has leakage problems

I recently bought this trailer (July 2014) and on my first trip encountered heavy rains with strong winds. After the rain stopped, I noticed water leakage in the four corners of the trailer as well as both slides had water leakage along the roofline as well as along the floor. As well, in the wardrobe slide the wall was wet enough to dampen clothes that were touching the wall. I currently have the trailer back at the dealer and I'm not confident that everything can be fixed and all the walls dried out preventing mold and other problems down the road. I need some guidance as how to proceed - I'm thinking of writing to Forest River Inc to state my case. Thanks for any help

That's a serious leaking problem. I have a 2014 v-lite 30WTBSK, no leaking issues.

As a person who is shopping for a new Forest River RV, this is scary. Water intrusion and rot are the number one issue as far as I'm concerned.

Give the dealer a chance to fix the problem. As far as the mold issue, I live in the desert South West and have no real experience with mold. Have the dealer reseal and ask them to check what they can concerning the mold.

Let us know the outcome.

Yikes. We're picking up this same model today. This one's been sitting in the dealer lot all summer, though. And it's been a very rainy (and cool) summer here in Michigan. I'll be sure to give the corners a good look during the walk through.

Well, the dealer phoned saying that the trailer is ready for pick up. Will be going in the next couple of days and will have them explain to me (in detail) exactly what they've done. Will message the details

Good luck. We towed ours about 100 miles home from the dealer and had driving rain all weekend. I searched along every seem and corner. Bone dry. Does make you wonder how they managed to screw yours up. Click image for larger version

Well got the trailer home - Basically the service tech found very poor sealing around screws, especially in the corners and along the top of both slides. Basically the service manager said that Forest River managed to put as little sealant as possible in all the critical areas. So the service tech sealed things up (just like the good old days). My one year warranty is good till July 2015 so come next May/June this trailer will get lots of usage. In addition, to eliminate all the spaces (when the slides are closed) they installed more gaskets/seals (that were missing) - so time will tell if things are fixed.

Were you driving in the rain (towing the trailer) - If you were, did you get any splashing inside the trailer by the main slide ??? Do you have slide toppers ???
