When I lived in Colorado (the last 26 years) I used to think that was the case.

But in reality, that was true only on holiday weekends and at state parks.

I've always been able to find a place to go with the camper with one or two days notice.

And if you are willing to go on weekdays instead of weekends...no problems at all!

Spending the first 3 and a half months in Arizona. Feel fortunate that we are able to do this trip 2 yrs running. Will spend some weekends camping locally in Saskatchewan throughout summer and fall. Wife retired last January but I'm still putting in time. Enjoy your trips and be safe.

this is true to a certain extent, however we are not retired so its weekends for us and we are spoiled with the state parks in Tn. the private campgrounds are few and far between and those are KOA type campgrounds that we have no interest in staying at (we have no kids) There is Anchor Down that lots of people seem to love, but it doesn't have many trees and is very pricey also long wait for a res.

This will be our 3rd big trip in 4 years. Headed from NC to Yosemite(only place reserved so far) for 3 months plus, starting in mid April. Hope to camp in the Smokies, Palo Duro SP in Tx., Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP then Yosemite and up to Redwoods. From there we will spend some time in Oregon before going to Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and maybe NM before heading back. Can't wait. Last year we moved, so didn't get to camp much.

This our 3rd year with the TT and hoped to go out for a total of 3 weeks. The other day my doctor tells me I have osteoarthritis with bone spurs. Need to see what options I have. Hopefully surgery is not required.

Safe and happy travels

Wow You are really moving. I will still be at my second location when you get home. It would take me all summer to do that. I must be getting older?, no - takes a while longer to confirm the smell of the roses? That's it!

Quite a site. Certainly lots of places to choose from. I usually stay in private campgrounds with full hookups, but not opposed to a night or two in a state facility. The scenery they offer is fantastic. I will have to return to MI as There is a lot there. Planning to drive from Western centra like to the top and over the Big bridge (I would butcher the spelling without looking it up), if possible, perhaps check out the Dunes.
