5 different keys with new camper?

Our new Shamrock 21SS came with 2 sets of 5 keys. The single key without the plastic opens all the storage bins outside as well as the outside shower. One other key works both locks on the entry door. The other 3 do nothing. Whats that about? Lol

Our Rockwood has 4 different keys/codes: The two entry doors, the storage compartments, and the exterior shower. I think this is pretty typical in the RV industry.

I know the feeling. Our XLR came with a mess of keys. Both entry doors keyed separately and the cargo door locks both have separate keys. We have another key to open the battery compartment.

I am sure the keys open something - just keep hunting around!

Congratulations on the new trailer. Enjoy camping and be safe!

you should be posting this question, in the Expandable/Hybrid section, since a hybrid has more keys that most other types of RVs.

my Roo came with 2 door keys, 2 cargo door keys and 4 bunk door latch keys, which other types of RVs don't have.

so you have at least 2 bunk door keys and maybe a second cargo key. the bunk door latches all use the same key.
you usually get at least two of each key.

pics of your keys would help.

Thanks !! I just noticed the key holes for the bunk locks. I can open close the beds with out help or steps but could not reach the keys holes with out climbing. lol. I have 2 keys the same that works all 4 bunk locks. 1 key that works both locks on the entry door and 1 key with plastic and 1 without that although dont look 100% the same, work all the cargo locks and outside shower lock so all 5 are accounted for. Thanks

Glad you got them sorted out!

i'm lucky to be 6' tall and can reach the locks on the latches.
unless i've backed into a downsloping campsite and then i have to stand on the bumper to unlock and lock.

Im 6ft and cant reach the keys holes on the 21SS. I had to climb on the bumber in the rear and the frame on the front.

i think the 21SS is taller than most hybrids, due to the superslide's flush dinette. the older hybrids with a dinette in the slideout, had to raise the dinette. but FR raised the trailer so the dinette could be flush.

i know it's higher than my 23SS. according to the specs, the 21SS is 5" taller than the 23SS.

I put different colored pieces of electrical tape on the keys and the locks because I couldn't remember which key went in which lock. DH can remember easier than me. Much easier on my often tired brain to look and think "green with green, yellow with yellow". :-)
