We did the memorial last month. For anyone near NYC, it's well worth the visit. The museum wasn't finished, but the water features, plaques, Survivor Tree, and somberness of the setting, and the stilled crowd, left a lasting impression. God bless the innocents, and God bless the USA! No . . . we will never forget!

I'll never forget either. Every year I still watch the tv show about that day that changed history. And every Sept 11th I wear an American flag T- shirt. God bless the U.S.A.!

I was on duty at the firehouse that day and we were watching the news as events were happening. As the towers were burning we knew FDNY had a mass amount of personnel committed to high rise operations. I remember after seeing the 2nd tower collapse I commented to the crew that we just lost a lot of brothers and sisters. Later we found out it was 343 murdered but that does not count the ones who have died years later from being exposed to contaminants during the rescue operations. We have an American flag with the names of the 343 on it hanging at the firehouse but even if we didn't have the flag, we will never forget.

Like others here, I never forget where I was ( I was on duty at my FAA office and because our office holds the American Airlines operating certificate, we are very close to their operation.)

On a related note, Everytime I performed an En Route Inspection ( riding on the flight deck jump seat monitoring the performance of the Flight Crew and airplane) on an American Airlines Boeing 757 and/ or 767 after 9-11, I would sit in that jump seat and try to imagine the chaos that took place when the hijackers broke into the flight deck - it was something I could not ever fully envision.

Did you actually go down to NYC to assist afterwards?

There was something on TV the other day showing NYC firemen climbing up the full length of stairs wearing full packs like their fallen brothers did - awesome

I commend you Sir for all you do.
