A problem we all face...
Ok, not sure if this is covered somewhere else so I will apologize in advance if it is. I'm looking for everyone's solution to the fly problem experienced while camping. I'm not looking for common sense solutions like a clean campground. Let's hear and see your creative solutions.

Bug zapper and a 19 inch box fan.
Tennis racket zappers keep the hand eye coordination tuned.

Usually a 10 mph breeze will cure the fly problem, that's where the fan comes in

Yes, depending on the setup it goes on one side of the table or hang it on a small shepherds hook.

Take a zip-lock food storage bag an fill 1/2 to 3/4 full of water and hang it close to where you are going to be, where the sun will shine on it and watch to flies' disappear.
It has worked every time I have done this.

I'm not sure southern Idaho flies are bothered much by wind... just heard there is a dairy about two miles west of where we are. Looking at one of the guns but I think my wife wants a more serious solution

Last June in the San Juans of southwest Colorado, between Cortez and Telluride, for about two weeks, we were inundated with them. I was told it happens every year. We got some simple fly strips and hung them outside. Every fly in the neighborhood was on them before the dust settled in the driveway. Then, you pull them down and throw them into the dumpster. Easy.

My wife learned a new trick this summer.
She wipes down the tables and chairs with Vinegar.
Give it a try!
We were in Amarillo last week and the wind was a constant 15-20 MPH and the flies were unbelievable. Wind did not seem to slow them down much. There was also some kind of cattle lots not far from us I believe.

I understand flies dislike Vodka or the smell of it anyway.
Apply some to your skin or in a open container (out of reach of the little ones) placed around your area.

The dogs lick me too much as it is. We stayed at a "Twin Lakes" RV park in Hemit, California, and we were inhaling flies outside. And it stunk to high heaven with the dairy farm we were near. Never again will I stay near a farm that I can smell.

I tried the bag of water with several shiny coins and hung it in the sunlight. It's never worked for me.....I've heard others who swear by it, but my personal experience didn't convince me.

Here is an old trick I used to do on the farm . Get a quart sized zip lock bage and fill it about 2/3rds full of water make sure it is closed tightly and will not leak .. Hang it/them flat with thumb tacks and hang it over the door way or put severial aroound the awning. Sounds silly but it works.

Anybody?? Would sea salt be the equiv. of hollow point loads? Hey...just askin'.

Sea salt would be like a Bismuth load, you know good for everything that ails the world today.
Rock salt would be your magnum load.
Garlic salt for the vampire flies.
Pop corn salt might be your hollow point loading.
