a storm warning

Just checking the local news and came across the following headline:
Forecasters say storms expected to hit middle of U.S. Saturday may be 'life threatening' - Winnipeg Free Press
Sounds like quite the storm :
The worst weather is expected to develop late Saturday afternoon between Oklahoma City and Salina, Kan., but other areas also could see severe storms with baseball-sized hail and winds of up to 70 mph, forecasters said. The warning issued Friday covers parts of Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas.

Other info at NOAA's National Weather Service - Tornado Outbreak Likely on Saturday for Parts of Central and Southern Plains...

No surprise! There was a tornado warning broadcast here in the San Francisco Bay area last night. We had thunder and lightening. A 777 jet out of SFO was struck by lightening after take off and had to return. Luckily no one was injured. Pretty unusual weather all over as I see it this year. Be Safe and heed the warnings.

We are expecting to get hit hard here in Omaha tomorrow afternoon. Planning on taking the morning to batten down the hatches. The University of Nebraska's spring football game is tomorrow. There will be 50 - 60K folks leaving the stadium just as these storms start firing up.

Just outside of Wichita KS. NOAA has a HIGH probability of tornadoes for tomorrow. Last time they issued this type warning was last year when Tuscaloosa got hit. Will be on the road early to get out of the way. Heading to Joplin, hoping we don't get any there.

Stay safe everyone. Get those wheels on the road and get out of the way, if you can. We'll be anxious to hear from you when it's over!

Made it home to Joplin without any problems. Now just have to wait out the weekend thunderstorms and hope we don't get anything other than rain. (Please, not hail!)

Did you see the pics of the strike on the Bay Bridge? Pretty neat stuff.

My family in Nebraska is talking about the hail storm they had. There was so much, it looks like snow on the ground.
