go by state issuing agent and ask for a temp tag until permanent one comes. JUST what we an do in NC. A long as you have all the paperwork should be a matter of issuing you the temp paper tag/plate.
IF all else fails just keep the temp tag on it and use the "I didn't know it was not good, it was when I left home?" case.
JUST a thought.

About to travel......and no license plate yet

Are you staying in same state? Have you tried your DMV for a transfer tag? That may give you a few extra days. It would be stretching the tranfer rules but anything is a shot? Can't BOA fax a copy of title to you? I bought in Ohio and dealer sent Ohio title directly to me with the lien holder on it. When that came in mail just walked into DMV paid PA tax and registered.

Keep asking for supervisors at bank or DMV until you get someone that will help you.

I would go enjoy the trip with the temporary tag. It will be perfectly legal for all but the last 4 days of your trip. It is very unlikely that you will be stopped during those final days. IF you are, just explain the situation and hope for an understanding officer. Having some of your supporting documentation on hand would likely help.

I would NOT place a plate on the vehicle that does not belong. This is being deceptive and if caught you will not likely receive any sympathy whatsoever.

Same problem...got 3 temp tags

It took 3-4 months for us to get the title and the dealership just kept giving us a new temporary tag when one was about to expire. The seller was an estate and they had trouble getting one party to sign off on the title or something. Good luck.

Dealer will not send another temp tag. He says Ohio will not let them issue them for longer than the original 45 days. That option is out.

I am going into Revenue (DMV) office this afternoon to see what I can do about some kind of plate.

Short of that, I'll do what is suggested and take what I have, keep temp tag on, and keep on keeping on. Dunno what else to do.
