AC Cover?

Starting to think about winterizing our new TT shortly. I am now faced with whether or not to obtain a cover for the roof mounted AC unit. I'm wondering if I really need to get one of those covers. What is the purpose of it anyway?

I will be storing the unit outside in southern Ontario some distance from our house. Once I put it away in Nov, I don't expect to see it again until March or Apr.

I purchased my cover thru Camping world. I have had it for three years. The money I spend it was well spent I keeps all the leaves from the trees and dust out of AC unit..
