Adding pictures to threads

Is there no way to add a picture without first downloading it to an external hosting site like photobucket?
I thought that I could add pics form my phone using the mobile site but it is asking for the URL of the pic there also.

Can't speak to the mobile app, but on the PC version: Click on "Go Advanced," scroll down to "Manage Attachments." Once you've uploaded them, they will be inserted below your text. If you want to insert them in your text somewhere, go up to the paperclip at the top of the text field and you can insert them wherever your cursor is placed.

Post Pic

No need for advanced, ... Right on Reply to thread (BIG GREEN BUTTON) it pulls up the following. Just click on the "paper clip" it opens a new tab (manage attachments) to browse your computer to select pic, then hit upload. It automatically will get added to the bottom of your post. No formatting is available.

On the FRF app, I touch the + sign in the circle left of the text box, then touch the "mountains" icon which gets me to my pics, select one, go from there.

When did you last update the app software? If you haven't done it in a while, loading pictures may not work. Go back to the app store, find the app an you will probably see a note to update it. After updating, try adding pictures again.

If using the FR app and you touch 'quick reply' it is unusually hard to navigate to add a photo.... BUT... if you touch the three vertical dots at the top right and select 'reply' it brings up a screen that has several options (icons) for adding photos. Easy peasy!

If you use the reply using quote function (arrow) it brings up the same reply screen where you can add photos easily.

On my PC, I don't get the paperclip unless I use "Go Advanced" first, OR I quote another post, which automatically puts me into the "Go Advanced" mode. Same for my app, if I'm remembering correctly. My phone page looks very similar to my PC page. I don't remember ever seeing a "big green button." Can you post a pic of it?

UPDATE: OK, I guess you're talking about the"Post Reply" button. I've never used it, since if you scroll down another couple of inches, you have a "Quick Reply" field already open. It appears that using the "Post Reply" button is identical to the "Go Advanced" button in the "Quick Reply" field, as it opens the same field with the expanded icons as you get with "Go Advanced." So it would appear that you've got a couple ways to get to the "Manage Attachments" dialog box. Again, once you've uploaded them, you can use the paperclip icon again to insert them into your text.

On my iOS version of the FR app... at the bottom of any thread, I see (L to R)
1. a plus sign in a circle
2. a text box included the gray words "Write a reply..."
3. the word SEND in blue.

I don't even see "quick reply".

Ya' learn something new every day. Didn't know about the green "Post Reply" button. Sounds like the way to go from now on. Unfortunately, the older I get the more difficult it is to change old habits.

I'm Android. My phone page looks just like my PC page.

I'll assume you are using the mobile web site on your phone and not the FR app? (or the Tapatalk app which is the same)

I thought I had down-loaded the app, but in reviewing, iI realized I'm just going to my email and opening my FRF emails, which takes me to the FRF site; so I guess that explains why it looks just like my PC.

When I open it in the FRF app, I only seem to have a Quick Reply button and only an icon or two.
