Aftermarket mods

Just curious where does everybody get their mods from. Do you have good experience with them?

I've bought bits and pieces online, at the big box hardware stores and small mom and pop RV or hardware shops. It all depends on what I'm after at the moment.

I'd had pretty good luck- but it really comes down to how I do with the install of the mod or effect.

What, specifically, are you thinking of?

Quite a few I've picked up here at FRF. There are some great ideas shared here, most include pictures. One thing I would recommend is state what type of RV you want to modify. Year, make and model are always helpful. Some of my modifications came after camping, and it rained, so had quite a bit of time on my hands. I found that some things could be better. Do you have any particular mods you want to do?

I buy mostly online. If installation is not too difficult, I do the install myself. For others which involve modifications which may affect warranty, I'll usually buy the item online, then have the dealer do the mods. I don't worry about not buying the items at the dealer's store. Their shop is always happy to have the work. As a for instance: I recently had a Satellite dome installed on our MH. The dealer shop quoted a 2 hour install. I saved almost $300 buying the unit online... the dealer installed it at the previously quoted price.

I buy mostly online like others. I use amazon.com or campingworld.com (amazon tends to be the better deal plus there customer service is superior). I get most of my ideas from these forums or websites like ModMyRV.com or DoityourselfRV.com

I've modded our last 4 campers. I get the ideas from different forums and the supplies from wherever I can get the best quality for the best price. Personally I think it's alot of fun and very rewarding.
