AHA moment faucets that turned the wrong way

Bought our new fiver and found on our first trip that all the cold water faucets turned the opposite direction we were used to. This made for many cold or overly hot moments in the shower. Knew that the faucets had small replaceable cartridges and I figured I would have to replace the cold ones. After taking apart both the hot and cold cartridges for comparison I realized the cold side was adjustable. The little metal plate that cuts off the water flow could be shifted to one side or the other. This makes all the faucets work the same direction and saves me from having to buy new parts! Hope this helps someone. I can post pics if someone wants them.

It's because the shower handle deal is upside down.

Ours is one of the faucets with a bathtub so it only goes one way but it wouldn't matter. The problem was that he hot valve was (pardon the expression) righty tighty/lefty loosey as are every valve we have come in contact with. The cold though were lefty tighty righty loosey and confounded us every time we turned them on. The hot had no adjustment internally but the cold valves had notches for adjustment. Will go out in a minute and take some pics.

Ok! Now that I know there are others out there with the same issue in their showers. It sure makes you wake up quicker in the shower.

Now what is the remedy again?

Thanks, just got back from FL. either burnt our ass off or froze our ass off with the valve arrangement. I will definitely be outside looking at this in a few minutes.

The cold water faucet in the tub is reverse direction on ours. Bugs me every time.

A pic would be great. Thanks so much!

Thanks for posting this. I think all 3 cold faucets in our Solera operate backwards.. A nuisance but I have not had a chance to deal with it. After your post I will have a go at them. JA

Ok, was trying to figure out a fancy way to upload the pics on here but safari kept crashing. The link above goes to my photobucket account and you can scroll through the pix there. I have included notes on what I have done. Sorry there will be a few other pix from other projects and even another use for nitrogen (besides tires) but that is for another post. It is Father's Day (happy pappy day to everyone out there) and I am off to be with the family.

I think you have to pull cartridge and turn them 180 degrees on the faucets that work in reverse that's what I'm going to do is I can't convince camping world that this is the solution I'm afraid grandkids will get burned

Rotating the cartidges did nothing, the cold water knobs would still turn counter clockwise for off and clockwise for on when I wanted exactly the opposite.

Remove the fixture, disconnect the water lines, flip the fixture over then reconnect the water lines to the appropriate sides.

X1000 The only way to get both working correctly. BTW youroo, you need to straight things up on your mod. The faucet is crooked.

Turning the faucet is not possible on the vanity in hall that would only work on shower or bathtub plus the shower outlet is suppose to be on top not bottom your hose would have to loop up instead going straight up
