And again I'll say... set the fan setting on the thermostat to auto.

Here are the directions taken directly from the manual for your single zone digital thermostat. Pay very close attention to the words I've highlighted in red. **HERE** is a link to the complete operating guide.

“Furnace” - Furnace Mode
In this mode there are 3 fan speed selections:
Lo - (LOW): The fan operates continuously at low speed.
Hi - (HIGH): The fan operates continuously at high speed.
Au - (AUTO): The fan will be Off.
Note: If additional indoor air circulation provided by the air conditioner
is not desired during Furnace Mode of operation, select Au
(AUTO) in the Fan Mode to shut the air conditioner fan off. If Lo
(LOW) or Hi (HIGH) is selected the air conditioner fan will continue
to operate on the selected speed.

As an aside... many folks PREFER the A/C fan running in the furnace mode.
Heat rises and as such, that warm air is drawn in by the A/C fan and evenly distributed throughout the unit.
Try it, you might like it!
