To get a prime/semi-prime spot, it's pretty much necessary to get a reservation for the next year right after the Balloon Fiesta gets over in October. There is a lot of info on a number of web sites for the fiesta, so might try those.....

We were at the balloon festival in the fall of 2013. There is a big camping area - really, a parking lot with water and electric service - right across from the launch field at Balloon Fiesta Park. Nothing great for camping, but dynamite for seeing and getting to all of the launches, evening balloon glows, etc. Plus, they run free shuttle busses from the "campground" to the launch field. But as has been said earlier, better try ass early as possible to get a reservation.

Good luck and enjoy the fiesta. It is pretty spectacular.

The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta is a sight to see. Here is a link to the RV camping at the park. There may also be other camping available in the Albuquerque area.

WE are staying at the following park:

AMERICAN RV PARK
13500 CENTRAL AVE. SW
ALBUQUERQUE, NM 87121
Phone: 505-831-3545

We made reservation back in early Nov 2014 for a full hook-up with 50 amp and a pull thru-site. They required the full amount up front because this is the balloon feast week other wise just a deposit.

X2 on staying at the Fiesta RV park. Dry camping but they provide a free shuttle to and from the launch field. Very convenient and if the wind is right you don't even need to leave the campground.

The Balloon fest is AMAZING! If you go early...really really early in the morning you can sign up as ground crew help and if chosen sometimes you get a chance to go up! But its just fun seeing it all happen!

There is a KOA about 20 minutes north of the launch field in Bernalillo, NM that is descent and easy access to the interstate + field parking. We live about 30 minutes from Balloon Fiesta Park in Rio Rancho, NM.

Enjoy your stay here!
