Almost can't wait for the 2016 Camping season to end....

I love going camping....I love that we take 6 or 7 weekend trips a year and wish we could take more, but with jobs, other things to do and a somewhat short season in Wisconsin, it's hard. As much as I love it, and I wanna take as many trips as our schedule permits before Winter shows its ugly face.....I can't wait for this year to be over....The 2016 season has kicked my butt!

In 2014 and 2015, we had a new camper each year...and camped our share of weekends. We had very few problems with our units, and I'm not sure we had more than a night or two of rain in those two years.....and I don't think we barely ever ran the heat!

Fast forward to 2016! Problems started when the snow finally melted enough that I could get into our camper to give it a once around.....We had water inside! Got that problem fixed, and found MORE water in the Underbelly in an unrelated issue! Then we found more damage from the first water issue, along with a laundry list of other minor problems that just won't stop. On top of all the things that seem to have kept me busy during the week when we're at home, we can't seem to find nice weather anymore. It's gorgeous during the week....highs in the 80's and little to no rain....then we go try to have a nice weekend! We schedule places that have nice kiddie areas so we can wear out our 1 year old!

Our first weekend out in June, we almost got blown off the map 2 hours after we arrived....

Our week long trip to Branson, it POURED most of the first 3 days we were there, and then was 96 degrees until we left.

Since then, we've had 3 trips, and every one of them has been COLD or Rainy and COLD!

We went to the Wisconsin Dells at the end of July, and it didn't top 75 degrees! Not exactly great swimming weather with toddler. Lows were OK in the 60's

2 weeks ago, we were out and I set the camper up in 2 inches of water because a monsoon parked over the western half of Wisconsin! Lows again were in 60's

Last weekend, not only did it rain most of the weekend, but it was a balmy 65 degrees on Saturday....FOR A HIGH! Lows were in the low 50's!

This weekend we're not camping, but going up North to a friends lake house....where it will be raining yet again and will maybe reach 70!

Our Labor Day trip looks much like our trip last weekend with rain everyday (high percentages) and high temps barely breaking 70....

Not to mention, almost every campground around here requires a 2 night minimum, and has a cancellation policy of at least 2 weeks or they keep your whole deposit! Unfortunately for us, our last 4 trips they've required the entire amount of the stay as the deposit, so we can't even cancel without taking it to the shorts! Plus we've paid out the ears for these places because they have better pools that we haven't even used!

Thanks for letting me vent AND Happy Camping.....I hope!

Head to OH, we've been dry as a bone up until this last week. Then it's only been short little gentle showers. We even held a pool party at the house during one and it didn't phase anyone! The weather can play some bad tricks on you though, been in your shoes. Hope your camper issues have all been resolved.

We have had a wetter than normal year also down here in the deep south, but temps haven't been bad, unless you consider this bad at five in the evening that I took a pic of in my truck Tuesday.

Kicker is, every weekend we've been home this summer has been almost totally dry and warm.

Most of the issues have been, but it needs to go back to get a few things taken care of after we're done using it.

It's been pretty warm here Monday thru Thursday....just the weekends taking a dive lately....Mostly because I talked my wife into filling the month of August with camping trips I'm sure....

I can sympathize, that happened to us for 2015

Haven't done a lot of camping this year, but we're about to get started again so we shall see how it goes. Either way, we find a way to have fun but we usually go camping to enjoy the outdoors, not the inside of the camper

Camping....and Fishing.......don't have 'seasons' here.

Deer hunting has a season. All hunting has a season. Everything else is open 12 by 7.

We don't go during summer school vacations ~ just too crowded. Well, we snowbird in FL (although it does not snow along the se NC coast it gets cool). FL is crowded with us old folks in winter. We shut down last May and start Sept 5 when y'all clear out the CGs.
It has been hot and dry here. Sadly, very windy and the waves high on the Atlantic so the boat did not bust the inlet often.
Coolest day all summer was 88, the rest in the high 90s and lows in the 80s. Not much rain either. We spent 2 days at the Dells in 1984......cannot remember the weather but the girls were young and enjoyed it.

We live in upper New York State. The weather here has been perfect for camping June July and August. It's been 80s and 90s just about every day and we had one day of rain for two hours. I kind a hate the fact they were in a drought but for camp and you could've asked for nicer weather. we had our trailer parked at Brennan Beach resort on Lake Ontario for a whole month and it was just fantastic. We had one of the beach elite sites with beautiful views and couldn't ask for anything nicer.

Yes I would have to agree this has been a tough summer. Great weather during the week, but the weekends have been poor.

We are trying to get out probably 1 last time next weekend for the long weekend and so far the weather is not looking great.

Kinda sad actually,

Here in st Louis, the weatherman has added "chance of showers" to the forecast just about every single day since March. I always check because I ride my motorcycle to work on days where there is no rain called for... I think I have rode in 4-5 times total this year.

x2

Except for family demands.....we don't camp in the summer -- crowds, kids, and dogs.

But, the rest of the year, we are traveling, with short trips home.

Don't like to "sit" in a CG; we are travelers, not campers.

It is all about perspective. It sounds like perfect camping weather to me. When you go weeks on end at 100+ and no rain, this sounds great.

I'm sure it would be if we were out for weeks on end....but then again, if we were out during the week, we'd have perfect weather! Unfortunately, I have to work to pay for this habit!

I've done alot of camping in this year, maybe 4-5 wks. but with very little "fun relaxing stuff." Mostly using my rv to move, visit my elderly mom, rv service or doctors apptmts in metro areas( NOT fun driving.) I had been planning on a big long Fall relaxing getaway, then life's little surprises;an expensive family emergency, then being told a couple days ago that I need $4,000. in unplanned dental work- rethinking now my travel plans for this year. Maybe I'll just vacation here at home; it's a resort area with many campgrounds; there are about 10 within 5 miles of me, very quiet in the Eastern Sierra this time of year and beautiful Fall foliage. What a bargain!! Hopefully, next year will be better with no surprises.

Whatever the weather or camping issues, it sure beats staying at home and watching old reruns on television. I choose to be happy and live life to the fullest regardless of circumstances. Let go and let God. Peace be with you my friends.

Our last trip of the season is scheduled for Columbus Day weekend in early October. I will winterize the RV plumbing upon our return and cover it up soon thereafter.
