Another tire story

Picked up the new unit in June of last year and drove it home about 150 miles. Sat in the drive before we were ready to move it to permanent site and had a flat tire(slow leak) Called dealer and they authorized fixing tire. Aired tire and drove to local tire store, leak was in the sidewall and non repairable.

Dealer authorized replacement. So far so good

Pull unit from storage and was getting ready for a trip to Fl. As ususal, checked tire pressure and found cracks in the sidewallls of three of the four tires. Contacted dealer and sent pics. He called me back very quickly and said do not drive on the tires. Went to the local dealer and he said the same thing, do not drive on those tires.

Dealer authorized replacement of three more tires. My conversations with several tire dealers are that most trailer tires are now made in China.

Made the trip to Fl no problems. Thanks Terrytown RV in Grand Rapis, MI

Would you mind saying what brand of tires were on the unit? Thanks.

no, the dealer did not want me to drive to have them replaced. They authorized me to go to a local tire dealer. I did stop and drop the tires at the dealer. They needed them for the warranty

New ones are load range d from another company

The only RV tire I've seen that is just about universally recommended is Maxxis. I put them on my TT 3 yrs ago and plan on putting them on them 5'er I bought (even though the original tires .... DURO ... are only 3 yrs old) as soon as I get home in a few weeks.
