(Another) TV Mount question

I don't understand how exactly to mount the tv in our camper once we receive it. (Cherokee 274DBH) the bracket on the wall is just a square with v-shaped slot. Click image for larger version

ID:	164135 I don't know if there's another piece that will come with it? Or if this is all well get and well have to buy a new mount?
Ideally we'd like one that swivels.

if they went to the trouble of putting 1/2 the mount on the wall I sure hope the other 1/2 is some where in the unit when you get it. Normally a bag of stuff under bed or in a cabinet.

if it doesn't move and you want to upgrade at least you know where the solid block for mounting is. I have the same plate outside on the side of my camper and can move my tv outside if I want.

I had the same bracket, on exterior of my 2016 272rl
I ordered bracket that mounts to tv from selling dealer, memory recalls $22.00, they offered no Theory, as to why one did not come with it.

We had the same issue on our first camper. We just removed that mount and bought a new one from Amazon that allows the TV to be swung one way or another. They start at somewhere around $20.

This being our first RV, we weren't sure if what we saw when it was on display is all that will come with it when we pick it up. We didn't know if maybe it was standard practice to keep the other little bits and pieces tucked away as someone else mentioned in a bag in the closet or under the bed.
Just wasn't sure if someone with the same rig new for sure :-) I guess we'll find out in a couple weeks when we pick her up!

I just figured out today how to remove my TV off that very same mount. My camper came with the TV already mounted, it does not swivel.

Here’s the one I was referring to.

You can angle it any way you want just as long as it get screwed into something solid.

Any ideas on how much weight a stock V mount like that will hold? Or even what the wall will hold? We’re picking up a 264DBH in a few weeks and I’m hoping a 43” tv would fit. Thanks!

Great question as you rig is essentially identical to mine. Congrats!

My dealer told me that they would not feel comfortable putting a tv bigger than 32 inches on. Now that was for the mount mounted to the outside wall. Wall inside may be able to hold more. Depends on how long the bolts are going in the wall and what they are going into.

It really depends on what you screw into with the mount. Those bolts are heavy duty. On my current TH, I actually took apart the cabinet and put in some studs to be safe.

At the very least, with a TV that big, I'd for sure take it down before travelling. If it were me I'd go with the dealer suggestions though.

The trailer should come with a piece to mount to the back of your tv that will slide into the bracket mounted on the wall. Make sure this is in the trailer when you do the PDI

The v mount came in the box with the manuals.

I did a YouTube video on my installation.

That's a flat wall v mount it doesn't have the weight restrictions that the swing arms do. That mount will hold 43in with no problem if you want a swing arm check the box for the size and weight it can hold.

Reminder to everyone. Be sure and check the bolts that go into the back of your TV periodically. I was hooking up my Dish and found loose bolts.

We do too! Hubby can't wait to watch the Yankees by the campfire. LOL

Did yours come with the rest of the bracket tucked away in a bag?

TV Mounts

Just took delivery of my 2018 25V Rogue. there were 2 TV mounts. Both are forward facing flat wall mount. the one in them ain cabin points directly at the entry door, and if the TV is mounted on it, you cannot even see it while in the camper. What the heck? Why would Forest River make a TV mount design that can only be seen while standing in the doorway, and nowhere else from within the RV? Anyone know of a swivel bracket without having to replace the entire mounting system. Not happy with Forest River for such a major flaw design.

And that’s exactly why I replaced the mounts as stated earlier. You can only see the tv if it’s mounted correctly and in my case it was similar to yours. Sadly you need to mount those swivels in pretty solid backing but if you can do that they work great.
