Anybody here have their tt delivered, and not drive to pick it up.

Hi all,I am looking for anyone who actually had their tt delivered as opposed to picking it up themselves.I know the best way is to go get it and do the walk through but that might not be possible.Im dealing with rv wholesalers and everything is going great so far the ordering of it etc.I am trying to find out if the drivers just drop or know something about the units and how was your experience with it delivered.

I had a good friend who had her camper delivered. And her aunt had one delivered, as well. Both from RVW, if I recall correctly.

Both had good experiences and no complaints.

While I would imagine most delivery guys are careful with the units they haul, they will most likely be doing interstate speeds, and the factory tires are simply not recommended for sustained runs at high speed.
If you are going to swap out the questionable factory tires anyway, as we did, it may not be that big of a concern.
We picked ours up at the dealer in Minneapolis, so it was delivered there, and it was in perfect shape.I hear most delivery guys will do a basic walk-through, but I wouldn't expect them to know everything, nor spend a pile of time doing it. They only make money while they are moving.
good luck!

We have done it both ways. We picked ours up in Elkhart. We got a walk thru and were able to ask alot of questions.
Our son had his delivered to our home for him to pick up at a later date. The driver arrived on time, had stopped to wash the TT and seemed to be in no hurry to leave quickly. Questions were asked and answered to my satisfaction as I knew my son would have many. All in all a good experiance.

I had mine delivered from New Hampshire to Savannah. The delivery was made by the father of the dealership owner and another employee. They delivered it in good shape and cleaned up. The walkthrough was brief but any questions I had later have been answered by searching on this forum.

Had mine delivered by RVW. Driver arrived early am (around 5am, scheduled for 6am. I told him earlier the better). I had a pot of coffee going, and the driver spent as much time as I wished doing a PDI and walk-through over a couple of cups. He seemed very knowledgeable on my unit, and gave me some really good tips that I don't think a salesman would have. We sat at the dinette, sipping coffee and did the paperwork. He even put on my hubcaps for me. (they leave them off so they can re-torque the lug nuts after the first couple hundred miles)

I tried to tip him and he refused. Seriously.

Probably the only discordant note was the poor, wretched old truck that he used. It was a 90's F250 diesel and it looked like a giant sat on it. It had over 650K miles and it showed every one. I wouldn't have taken it to the 7-11 for a loaf of bread, and this guy is pulling trailers all over the country with it.

Factoring in using a vacation day, fuel, lodging and the stress of trailering it back from Ohio, it actually saved me money for delivery. Overall, I was extremely pleased and wouldn't hesitate to do a delivery again

Thanks for the info everyone,I have decided to have it delivered. Taking two kids age 7 and 8 on a 2 day trip to pick it up with no fun destination, vac day fuel, etc was a tough call but most likely more of a headache.Good news is rvw is sending one of their most asked for and knowledgeable delivery guys to help me with my walk through and questions when it arrives at home.So far dealing with rvw has been great,I will keep everyone posted on how it works out.
