Exclamation Are all or other FR TT built the same as the Surveyor SV-291

I have a 2011 Rockwood 2702ss, I have been reading problems with slides leaking on the Surveyor TT. I am a little concerned that my trailer could or will have these issues, (leaking under bottom, water pooling at gasket, ect)

anyone have any thoughts on this?

We have had our slide out during some pretty strong heavy rains with no leaks present........yet

Check the seals at the inside bottom corners of the slide... they fill up with water and hide the damage, I had to flip mine inside out. Check my pictures on my leak thread I posted and you will see what I mean. I also thought I did not have a leak and found it by pure chance. There are at least two more complaints jsut on this forum as you must have come across them..

Is your slide a full one or like a cutout with the bottom getting inside the trailer ?

Yup you have the same design. Check those bottom seals for water, put your fingers in there you can do it. Any wetness inside and you know what to do

Looks like your trailer is very similar to mine You have a U dinette ! and the bunkbeds are reversed ! I love the direct outside access to the washroom

How do I fee for this in the lower corners outside? If there is wetness what is it I need to do, Goomph you seem to be the expert on this topic...?

You need to check the bottom inside corners of the slide out. The parts which are completely inside of the unit when the slide is in. You will see the white seal going down on the side to the bottom and fold underneath. get on your knees aor lie down and look under the slide. There you will see the rail coming from the slide and the seal meeting it. If the bottom of your slide is enclosed, then I don't know. Mine is wide open.

It leaks when it the slide is out. But another SV-291 member reported that it leaked while it was in. I am eprsonally thinkign that it ahd accumulated when it was in and then spilled later when it was in. That's how I found mine was leaking. No sign of a leak. I take it for a ride to adjust my prodigy. Lots of braking some harsh of course. I open the door and water everywhere .... And when I sa water over the sink waste water which is high I said to myself where did this come from ? And toucjed the seal and there it was hiding nicely and rotting my slide's edges secretlly/

Here are the pictures ...

Rear of the slide oven/stove area. See the access panel is taken out

Getting closer to the access panel

Under the sink looking through the access panel. You see the bottom of the seal there it is white :

Close up of the water collection area :

Put your hand right into that seal it is open as you can see.

This is the forward part of the slide. Same seal at the bottom.

See this is how I pulled the seal (rear) away and you can see water actually pouring if you look at my hand where the white water hoses are.

And this is the front seal releasing its water ...

Forest River has a long way to go for Quality control !

I wish we could come together at this forum and somehow attract their attention to these very serious problems their customers are facing.

I hope this helps and I pray to God you have no leaks. I do not know fo a fix yet Water in my opinion is travelling through those white rails from outside when the slide is out.

Hopefully the dealer I will take my traielr will be able to fix it.
