Are propane lines for outside grill always this long?

We had heard about people buying extensions to propane lines so they can have their grills farther away from the camper. We thought about doing this but since this is our first TT and we have not used it yet, we thought we would wait and see how it works. To our surprise, while doing a mod under our dinette, we pulled the propane line all the way outside and it's 4 feet long. Is this normally how long they are or maybe a previous owner changed it?
