Arkiva Rv Bicycle carriers

Just picked up travel trailer today. Being new to the forum was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Arkiva 4 bike tounge mounted carrier. Looks good on paper but @ $1000. Cnd was hoping for any experiences before I ordered. Also a little concerned what this does to the tounge weight even though the bikes are light and the carrier is mostly aluminum. Any thoughts?

I've never heard anything bad about Avrika except for the price.

You're right that the weight will definitely add up and quickly.

Because of their high prices and lack of availability in the US, not many RVers own one.

As an avid cyclist, I think that they are vastly over priced.
There are one or two other companies that make a cheaper tongue mounted rack.

if you can do without the propane, you can make your own for less than $20,.....we carried our bikes in the camper shell for two yrs before I could finally come up with a design that would be easy to mount/un-mount, not interfere with installing the sway control and WDH bars and not break the bank,....we're pleased with the results and happy to get the bikes out of the camper shell.................

Propane is not only used for cooking and heat when necessary but it also powers your fridge and your water heater when disconnected from shore power. Not something I'd want to go without.

I just ordered a Arvika Bike Rack for a 5th wheel trailer with the connection to the front mount. Here are the model numbers and prices in Canadian, I paid at my RV Dealer

Arvika 7000-SWXL $__245.70__CA
( raises bike rack over my truck roof since I have 6.5 foot box)

Arvika 7003-26 ABC $__363.41_CA ( 3 bike rack )

Arvika BR5W $____49.77_CA_( additional triangular brace )

I called Arvika in Quebec, they looked up my trailer model and then recommended the right model numbers and description.

I then gave this information to my dealer for him to price.
I am due to pick up in about 2 weeks from dealer when I pick up my trailer
