Authorized Forest River Service Centers

I bought a new Georgetown GT3 in February and I am trying to find an authorized FR service center for warranty work. All I have found online is a dealer who says that there are 2400 Authorized Forest River Service Centers throughout the country. Does anyone know if there is a list of these centers ? The dealer I bought the RV from is 300 miles away from me and after a very bad sales experience with them they are the last place I would take my RV to for warranty work. Plus I have heard that taking an RV to a dealer you did not buy from is also a bad idea. Hence I would like to find an authorized service center in my area. I live just east of Asheville North Carolina so if anyone can help I would certainly appreciate the information. Thank you

Call your FR service representative (on the website) and get pre-approval and take it to any shop. You pay the shop and they will reimburse you.

Just a note of caution on this method - be sure you get that pre-approval! We didn't and it took almost six months to get reimbursed. Also, I found it difficult to get any local FR dealer to work on our TT because we didn't buy it from them.

Hope your luck is better than ours was!

Call a local RV service only shop. Some are mobile, some aren't. Ask how they handle warranty. Most we go to get the pre-approval themselves and the process is painless for us. If mobile only, then you might have to pay an on-site visit fee.

We never see a dealer again after we purchase.

Get preapproval in writing "email" before having the work done. Do not rely on anyone's word that FR approved it until you receive an email from FR stating it's approved.

Yes...

But don't email them for approval...call them on the phone and talk to a real live person that not only speaks english, but understands it as well!

Then have them email you the approval!

This is the most important part of the whole ordeal!

Just because someone has been "doing it for years with no problems" doesn't mean you should!

There is no one local that I trust to work on my RV.

There are no dealers anywhere that I trust to work on any RV. Many are indeed honest........but not really competent.

So........if I want it fixed, I travel to where they know how to fix it. In fact, I just left.

We also had a horrible experience from the dealer we purchased from so we're never ever going there again. Also we don't mind letting people know of our experience if they ask.

We did find what turned out to be a different FR brand dealer who agreed to do warranty work for us. So don't limit yourself to your specific brand.
