awning arm

2004 salem my rear awning arm lower support clip pulled out of the trailer, i got a new clip and tried reinstalling with longer lag bolts but is not biting into anything, is this something i can get fixed or even do myself?

You can always add a backing plate on the inside and through bolt it.

was thinking that but how would i get backing plate in without destroying aluminum. guess try and go from under neath??

I don't know where it is mounted or if anything is in front that area, I'm talking about putting the plate on the inside wall. Had to do that on a jayco, but it was low and just painted the plate to blend with the wall. Never moved again on me....

Just thought of something, can you drill new 3/16" holes and then pop rivet it. Just do it up the arm in places.
