Awning, jacks and slide issue.

Hi everyone. New here and new to owning this camper. It's a 2012 forest river, puma by palomino. 28 krb. My husband and I went camping this weekend, used the buttons inside the camper to open the slide and awning. No issues. Also used the buttons outside for the stabilizer jacks. Also no issues. We then realized that we didn't fill out water tank properly the next day, we pulled everything in to get water. Got back to the campsite and and none or the buttons worked anymore??? Had to pull everything out with the remote control after that. Any ideas?? Just got home, plugged it in and still nothing. Thank god we had the remote!! Any help would be appreciated. We didn't have battery power, just plugged in. Worked fine a couple of weeks ago when we went.

You MUST have a charged battery hooked up to activate the trailer brakes if the trailer comes unhooked. Not having a charged battery is NOT an option unless you are a permanent or seasonal.
Did you check your 12V fuses? (slides, awning and jacks are 12V)

What was the power source at campground? 30 amp service?
What is the power source at home? 15 amp?

Like I said, new to all of this fancy camper stuff. Will put the battery on for sure next time we are going out, thanks for the info on that. Yes checked all fuses and they are good. Everything else works fine in the camper but those 3 things. Just seems odd they would all go off at the same time but will work with the remote???
We have had it out before camping without issues and at home plugged in without any problems running those three things in and out, up and down. With and without the remote.

I have a different one, but there are separate fuses for the remote and the switches.

I thought I read where you MUST have a battery hooded up??? Maybe I am crazy. As I recall the converter gets "lost" without the battery, but the chargers have changed a lot in the last few years. I would get a cheap/any battery on there.

Could it be you had disconnected from shore power when the problem began?

Each slide, jack has a fuse. Normally near by the slide, jack.

Put the battery in, you should have it hooked up or you can create problems as you have found. There should be a relay near it see if it can be reset.

....................................and as others have said you have no emergency break away brakes without a battery. Very dangerous and not legal.

Good Luck.

Things controlled by the remote have a separate fuse panel. It is not with the converter panel. Mine is under the kitchen sink. Yours can be anywhere, you will have to search. It looks like this:

Thanks! Yes I'm an aware of the dangers of not having the battery on now. I also found the panel for the remote. Doesn't have fuses with it though. I will connect the battery tonight and am also getting new fuses for everything. There is a clicking noise when I pull the 30 amp fuse on the main panel in the remote box but not with the switches. Change everything out I guess and see what happens. Thanks everyone!! Keep you posted.

The panel that I pictured has fuses. Yours has no fuses?

No fused that I can see. There is a battery that looks permanent and non removable but that's it. I'll take another look once I get the new fuses for the main panel and outside.

I cannot help you with your problem since my TT doesn't have a remote. Since you bought a used RV may I suggest that you look at everything your TT has and make a spreadsheet with the manufactures name along with the model and serial numbers. Go online and google each and look for owners and service manuals. You can store them on your tablet, laptop, a USB thumb drive or print them out. Many documents you will find online are in pdf format and can easily be saved to any I mentioned above.

I'm sure that being a used RV you did not get all the documents that originally came with the unit.

Hmmmm, not sure what you have. Enlarge my pic and you can clearly see the fuses.

Hi again. No there are no fuses with the remote panel. Changed all the fuses in the breaker panEl to new ones and also the ones on the hitch. Connected fully charged battery just now and the buttons still don't work???? Slide, awning and jacks still only work with remote??? Sooo confused right now!!

Pics of main panel and remote control panel. Both panels are close together near the sink. I have looked everywhere trying to find another panel.
