I've left things at the campground, left the antenna up and barely touched the awning on a tree, but (knock wood) have never caused any major damage (yet!).
I was hosting at Gamble Rogers this past summer and caught a glimpse of a Class C Sunseeker out of the corner of my eye and tried to chase him down (on foot)... he got away turning north out of the park with awning fully extended. After loosing the foot race, and out of sight, the youngest son spoke up and he stopped; and put it in without damaging the awning! How lucky can you be. Apparently a Sunseeker awning can sustain 40 mph winds from the front!
