I brought my brand new 5er home. We filled it up with "stuff". Hooked up and drove to the storage yard. Pulled up to the key pad, punched in the numbers, watched the big gate open up to accommodate our entry. Put TV in "D" for drive and proceeded to drive the 5er into the big, yellow, cement pole that protects the key pad. Hit it at the drivers basement door, damaging the door, metal skirting under door and pushed in the wall near the water heater. I forgot the 5er was there...I guess. Not my 1st 5er either. I smartened up, a little, and got a garage door opener from the office and now use the big gate at the other end of the yard. It's embarrassing to use a MR. Clean sponge to get all the yellow paint off of the 5er while hoping nobody sees me. It's bad enough to make that mistake but then I had to listen to my wife, who is French & left handed........

A handy way to customize those too perfect side rails on your pickup is to simply leave the locking bar on the fifth wheel hitch open. You get the perfect "V" shape that is highly desirable in the RV community. I now tow with a ball hitch and really miss that "V".

I always wondered how they got those customized bed rails... I wonder if they help the aerodyamics and thus, MPG?
