Aww crap.
Leaving the campground after dumping all of the tanks:
90-minutes later at home:
My valve must have been open a smidge. Thank gosh I have gloves and extra 5-gallon buckets at home!
Note to self, add to my supplies list for the camper.

Bucket time and a broom handle to unlock the cap.
Ya might want to shut some valves first.

POO PATROL what a crappy job. In this case I would get the strap wrench out and when I was done wash it good and bleach it then rinse it good.

I wish! The cap is too tight to push with a broom. Gloved hand and a bucket and washed my hands 2 times afterwards!
Then the whole area got a good hosing down.

I have to ask, why did you take Pic of your sewage as you were leaving?

Ole man...this brings back a nasty memory for me. 25 years ago we had a "non camper" lady friend flush an item that you are not suppose to flush in an RV. On this 95 degree hot humid July day, I went to a local RV dealership to dump since we had 2 other couples with us on the way home and the ladies had to use the bathroom every 50 miles. (Well, it seemed that way.) Anyway, when I went to dump, her feminine item turned sideways just at the tank outlet on that old 1972 Winnie. Ultimately, I had to reach my arm up the pipe elbow deep and pull it out. When that came out in my hand, everything behind it came blasting out. I'll leave the story at that so all you folks can put your own "unhappy ending" to it. I will tell you that it took me a while to clean up the dump station and myself...and not to mention I gagged for half an hour. Go ahead and laugh, it will not hurt my feelings. I've told this story for years. Needless to say, from then on my DW has always had the "you don't flush xxx down the toilet in an RV" conversation with all our guests.

Purely to post it here to share my misery. I knew I had a mess waiting for me- just didn't expect it to get worse like it did (in hindsight it is obvious that it would).

Note to self: Buy a clear sewer extension for RV, and never read FRF again before eating breakfast.

Large HD trash bag (Clear or Black) your choice.Place T-bag over clear Elbow and secure (Tightly around the upper connection),now remove the bottom cap. Now puncture a Small hole in the bag (After placing the bag over a Dump station hole, when empty throw away bag after retrieving Cap or Buy a new Cap,your choice! Youroo!! NOTICE-Only try this after you have dumped your tanks, for the Small amount left in the pipe and tank, like Ependydads case!

Ahhh...the joys of RVing! Hasn't happened to me yet. I do appreciate the fact the DW takes on the task of dumping the tanks...bless her heart! She also catches plenty of grief/kidding from my RV friends as she has a strict policy of no #2 in the tank, only in the case of an emergency. She insists we all trek to the bath house.

I agree with you, about the clear elbow, that could have been a real crappy situation
