Axles hitting the frame.
Hi everyone.
We just bought a slightly used 32 srv toy hauler. Long story short. With one Harley and enough stuff for two people the axles are hitting the frame. I have tried all week to speak with someone at Lippert, but have been unsuccessful. I weighed the rig on our way home and the whole rig weighed app. 18.500 with 9300 on the trailer axles. I think the axles are rated at 12.000. Anybody have any comments?

No. It rides level. You cant even put two fingers between the axle and frame. Thanks Tim

That's interesting. What did it look like before you put anything in it?

I am looking at a picture of one online. It looks like you couldn't put a fist in between the top of the tire and the cutout for the slide, granted it's not a great pic, but there appears to be about a foot between the axel and the floor

The TH has leaf spring suspension, and the axles are mounted above the leaf spring pack??
This way, the axles could possibly contact the frame. Just a thought.

Yep. The axle is above the spring. I talked with the "axle guy" at Lippert this week. He was very helpfull. He sold me a equilizer that will give me an extra two" I asked him why Forest River would build a trailer with the axles so close to the frame. He grunted something and then told me the parts I needed. The parts were only $8.00 + shipping. Thanks for of the thoughts on this matter and sorry it takes me so long to ansure I drive a truck and I'm gone all week. Tim

Hey don't apologize! we appreciate the fact that you're supplying this info to all those out there who may be experiencing the same thing.
So does Lippert build the frame/chassis? I knew they did slideout and levelling systems, but didn't realize they do the chassis.

yep lippert builds almost all of forest river frames. but only to forest rivers specifications.
i had an occasion last year to speak directly with a lippert person.
WOW what fantastic customer service, they were ready to put a guy on a plane and come help me out with my modifications
cant say enough about how helpful they were.
36rlst really should be sporting a pari of 7k axles vice 6ks

I had a similar experience with them, getting service manuals for slide systems. REally good service.

OK. Lippert sent me 2 new equalizer's. 4" lift witch is apx two more than what was on it. I have know idea why they would let it leave the factory the way it was but they did. Brian Gigi is the guy to talk to at Lippert if you have any issues like this. $3.99 each wasn't bad but I got mine for free because they didnt ship them the first time I ordered them. Took me about two houres to put them on but it's one of them jobs where you don't know the easy wayto do it untill your all done. So far I gota give Lippert a gold star for there help. Tim
