joehbus, we all knew you would do just fine, the bigger they are the easier they are. I did not mention earlier that I use a license plate mount camera on the back of the camper just like the one in my pickup tailgate handle, it really doesn't help me to backup ( I have the mirrors for that ) but it does let me know what all is behind me and how close. I can park it almost anywhere I want it the first or second try. Many years of driving truck and trailer pays off... Next time will be even easier for you!

IMHO, Just one more thing to look for when backing up, Look up for tree branches that may scrape.

Backing up...

Take your TT to a large parking lot and practice, practice, practice... Make sure that when you are backing up to always back with the trailer turning to your left, never do a blind backing (to your right) and remember not to oversteer, only 1/4 turn moves on your steering wheel. But practice as much as you can

Judivan... I am curious to know why you would suggest to never back to the right? The right side is not blind if you use your mirrors. Many campsites have you back to the right, in fact I do it all the time on my own with a 42ft 5th wheel...

How do you back into the sites on the right side of the road if you never back to the right?

I'm using my old habit of being a professional driver OTR, an the company did not want us to back up blindly. Use a spotter always to watch you blind side.

My DW is a pro at spotting. She has guided me into some tight spots in the dark with her flashlight and walkietalkie. She won't drive the tv or back in with the tt but she can tell me like a champ.. She also calls it back talk if I ask anything! Lol

I was quite impressed with my 9 year old's ability to spot me. I had to tell him to get out from behind the trailer twice, but it was his first time and he nailed it! (my DW tried to help, but...)
