Bath house essentials for girls -help

Ok so after asking about the 5 minute showers in the camper & suggestions about sending my teen girls to the bathhouse I want to Supply them with a bag/tote to carry stuff. Does anyone have something they use or a system?? I was thinking a reusable grocery tote, wet swim suit bag, tote for shampoo Etc...they can take in the shower.

Any other thoughts??? They will come back to dry hair & put on makeup which takes hours in Itself

Let them figure out their own bag / tote. If they are old enough to wear make up they are old enough to handle that decision.

I would want the hair drying adventure to be in the shower house not the RV just because of the moisture / noise / mess aspect.

Those ideas sound about right. I would include in bag hairdryer and makeup for peace in the camper; also for avoiding makeup accidents on the carpet or upholstery . Plus, it might hasten the tasks having to do them in the shower facility.

It's a good start- my daughter would end up wanting something prettier and would find a random bag after a time or two. Now she uses anything from the basket on her bike to various cinch-sacks to a plastic grocery bag. It's rarely the same setup more than a couple of times.

Our girls use a shower caddy - very popular in college dorms also. This holds all the shower gells, shampoo and conditioners plus it's plastic with a few small holes in the bottom so they can take it into the shower with them.

They also have a plastic crate from Wally world they use for everything else to tote down and back. Each kid has a color so it's easy to know who's is who's. We store these in the tub since we don't use the shower in the trailer.

X2....my wife n daughter use the shower caddy as well. It'll hang on the door as a lot of bath houses lack adequate shelves for such things. They make them in some wild colors too.

BTW, my son and I use a small flight mechanics tool bag. you should see the looks we get when the "maintenance" guys show up at the bath house in flip flops and proceed to take showers!

We just use the reusable grocery bags from Sobeys. The mesh reinforcement on the sides are the perfect pockets for holding the soap/shampoo and everything else goes in the centre.

All it'll take is one nasty bath house and suddenly camper showering won't seem so bad. Least that was my experience.

At a dollar store i saw a plastic bag that was advertised as a beach bag, about the size of a large purse and had two handles on top. What was used the last time the bath house was put to use.

Amen to that! That's why I bought a camper in the first place. I paid all that money for the RV I'm certainly gonna use every part of it.

We always told our boys, if you're old enough to go to the shower house by yourself, you're old enough to figure out what you need and take it with you.

They figured it out real quick. Don't understand the new parenting that requires the parent to do the kids thinking in matters like this.

I usually go to the bathhouse in sandles and bring shower/water shoes with me for inside the shower.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 using the FRF mobile app.

We both use a nylon mesh bag to hold the soap, shampoo, etc. Also bought a plastic over the door double hook to hang things on. Some bath houses have the hooks missing. If the bath house isn't full, the wife has been known to use the electric hand dryer to dry her hair. Our new rv, that we just got in Dec and haven't used it yet, will eliminate the bath house trips.

I use a small hanging travel bag with shower & hygiene essentials in it (shampoo, conditioner, face cleanser, cotton balls, moisturizer, lotion, soap, basic make up, toothpaste, floss, toothbrush) as well as shower shoes and a double sided mirror that can hang up on a clip or bungee (sometimes mirror space in bath house is limited or I am just not feeling social enough to share the space over a tiny sink)

I don't carry a blow dryer.. my hair is too long, thick & curly to try to dry fast...so it's hair clips or pony tail holders for me.

I do bring a flat iron or a curling rod to touch up or remove the wild camping hair for the times I know we're taking an excursion from campground to the local town. ALTHO a hat works good too! Haha

Good luck !

Hi

We use a plastic tote something like the picture below. I tilt it to empty out the water and the handle makes it easy to carry.

We store it in the shower with everything on the tote.

Makeup....while camping. Don't think I understand that one. Then again, I've smelled someone's perfume at a hundred yards (or close enough) on a trail in the middle of nowhere before.

That would be someone who does not know about the bath house.

Aw come on. Wait guys - I explained that one! For me, make up is for town excursions. Men are lucky that they just look great the way they are. You guys can have grey hair (or no hair) and still look awesome! Men can get away without shaving but not many ladies can. Haha

For me, a little foundation and light color is a nice touch when stopping for breakfast or lunch on the way home from a camp trip. We rarely take the straight way home - we meander and stop at little places along the way. I don't put make up on (just sunscreen) when we are digging for rocks or on the lake fishing. The fish and rocks and dirt don't care & neither do I but if I am going to town, I want good service and courtesy which I have found lacking when hitting town with camping face. Haha

My girls take a small camp table. Sometimes there are hooks on the wall. Sometimes there is a place to sit. But everything always seems to be wet. They use the table to put their clothing, tote, and everything that they want to keep dry.
