Bathroom Sink - Too large

Now I know this might sound crazy... BUT.... has anyone changed out their sink to gain alittle more counter space. The sink in our TT is quite large to just brush your teach or shave in front of... I would have thought a smaller sink would have worked just fine and give me alittle more counter area... THOUGHTS? Has anyone made any modifications associated with this problem.

Thought about a board or piece of plastic to lay over the sink to use as the counter space... I have an engraving shop so our answer to some things is some of our plastic engraving stock... Just cut a piece to fit on top of a corner hamper so we could sit a fan on the clothes hamper... works like a charm.

I think the sinks are the size they are out of convenience for the mfg (one part fits all) and when washing your hands after doing your business a small sink ends with water splashed all over. JMHO Your idea of a cover might work with a hole large enough to accommodate what you want to do.

You can always fashion a swing up addition to the counter out of plastic if you have the room. Make it yours I always say

I'd be happy with what you have. I feel like I'm shaving in a Styrofoam cup when I use our bathroom sink.

Thanks for the reply and I DO BELIEVE you are correct, that they just use the same size for all. I just want a flat surface to lay a brush - comb - make-up - DH's razor - just things like that when we are getting ready in the morning. And I don't have to worry if I drop something and it falls down the drain. We are of course making do but just wondering if anyone else felt the same way and made any amazing upgrades... I know how this group can be... very crafty and very ingenious with making things the way they want.

Thanks SeaDog - Always good to hear from you.

Totally agree Debbie, we are considering replacing our vanity top as well on our Rockwood, the sink uses 75% of the counter. The design of our W/R leaves little room for shelves. We boondock frequently and this shallow wide sink uses way too much of the precious water on board.

Good luck with which way you decide.

Sink

We have a Solaire 251 RBSS 29' TT. Our sink is about the same size as the cabinet so I installed a larger medicine cabinet. I got it at Home Depot. It is a mirror on the inside as well as the outside. Lots of storage in it.

I should have done this to begin with because I LOVE to see pics when people post. Just wasn't sure I had one of the sink - this is not a close up but will give you the idea of the "LACK" of space I have...

The wife and I keep our cosmetics in plastic bins (shoebox size). When needed the box is set on the counter and items needed are picked out of the box. When done the plastic bins are returned to the shelf unit on the wall.
