BB grill that comes with my flagstaff

I recently bought a new Flagstaff 831RESS it came with a grill that is in a box under the bed. I have for several years grilled on my weber Baby Q . Is the grill that comes with the Flagstaff worth keeping or just keep and use the Baby Q.

It's a decent little grill and will get the job done. The bracket also can be turned to make it a tabletop grill, if you don't want to hang it off the railing on your RV.






I actually use mine on the pontoon boat, and attach the bracket to the pontoon railing with u-bolts, and have the grill hang over the side. Was able to buy this off of amazon to use it with disposable cylinders.

It's called a 'Side Kick BBQ" and is what I have been using it gets the job done with just the 2 of us (sometimes 3 or 4 when grandkids come with us). But I will now be looking for something else as I sold my Wildwood T26TBSS TT and let the Side Kick go with it. I bought a used 2000 Gulf Stream 35' Motor home this past weekend, going to pick it up Tuesday.

We use the weber smokey joe, also an aluminum oven liner underneath to protect and keep any ash from the table.

if your used to a Weber and serious about grilling, you won't be happy with the tin can of a grill that comes with these campers

Its small but we enjoy ours and the convenience of hanging on the side of the camper and running off the campers propane tanks.

I agree. I much prefer my Weber Q. I wasn't intertest in the "tin can" so I substituted it for the two burner stove when I bought our trailer.

Or leave it in the box and list it here on the Classified Section. While I'll stick with my baby Weber there is a number of RV owners who would love to have one of these, though I can't understand why. But, they do.

X2 - it is not fun to grill on, but will do if you have lots of time and not a lot to grill. I'm a Weber grill aficionado and this grill is a "tin can"

I love my side kick. It has the ability it use the RVs installed 30lb propane tanks system or as wmtire shows it can stand alone. I can also take it with on a tailgater!

We love ours and use it all of the time. This is a great little grill that works well. I have cooked everything from hot dogs to steaks. Perfect for a family of four. My only gripe would be around storing it after use. Can be a bit messy. I place the grill in a plastic bag and then the included soft sided bag and then place in the storage compartment.

When we had our popup for 20 years with the kids, we used a Smokey Joe. Cons: have to carry charcoal. Have to wait for charcoal to turn into coals. Have to wait for the Smokey Joe to cool down. Have to dispose of ash. Have to take Smokey Joe apart and store somehow without getting ashes and grease all over.

With the Sidekick, I pull it out of the storage cabinet, slide it onto the rail, plug in the gas hose and I'm in business. By the time we're done eating, it's cooled down, I disconnect, slide off the rail and put it back in storage. We bought a large plastic bin that it fits in, so I don't worry about grease or anything.

Is the food cooked as well as with the Smokey Joe? No, but it does the job a LOT easier.

I'm on my second one in 3 years, use it all the time. It's easy to hook-up and put away, I stow it in a plastic container. It's fast and may not have the same taste as a charcoal cooked steak but by the time it takes to use a charcoal grill, I'm done eating. If you buy a propane table top your really might as well use the sidekick. Facts are that Charcoal will give you a better flavor. All my grills at home are charcoal, but for the road a sidekick serves us well. If you want the smokey taste just add chips in a foil bag on the burner. Even better get the can they sell to put on your burner they put out a lot of smoke and a easy cleanup.

We do not use ours, found the BTU output was low and took forever to cook, stayed hot and we did not like the idea of taking down the awning to cook as it sat underneath and the smoke/grease would get on it. Presently in the cardboard box in the garage, we use a Coleman grill that sits on a two wheeled trolly affair and we attached a 25 lb propane tank on it and wheel it out to the picnic table. Likewise we tried to sell ours but no luck.
