Well, my wife and I talked for quite a while last night.

At the end of the day, we aren't pursing this 395M any further. We just can't get over the issues between the few things I'm trying to convince myself they wouldn't be so bad and the cost for customizing/personalizing the unit (especially with its hefty starting price tag).

So, thanks for riding along with me.

Yeah, well, its your home so you need to be sure. Dozens of other models out there to see. While there needs to always be room for compromise somethings cannot be let go.

On the downside, looks like the next couple of weekends will be spent painting and wallpapering my current Sabre!

I've thought of doing this to make ours more homely. We hung some of our travel photos I had taken and that really made things shine, but the insides are SO DRAB!

It seems to be pretty common. I do love walking into campers whose owners have painted and really decorated. It's incredibly different than walking into these all-brown interiors.

But, I *HATE* painting. I'm really not looking forward to trying to wallpaper daughter's bunk. I think I might unmount the bed in order to get up there easier. We'll see...

I have never done wall paper.. But I agree painting BLOWS! Esp when it is a small space. I like the end but all the prep for 15 minutes of painting stinks. Would you just paint over the existing paper or sand / remove it?

We'll remove the "border". I found a pretty decent post/video on how to do it that makes it look "easy":
Adventures in Removing RV Wallpaper Border | Wheeled and Free

Otherwise, we'll just paint the walls as they are. The existing "walls" aren't quite paper. They're like part of the walls.

Good point it is bonded to the backing substrate. Thank you for the link.

We have always found a way to mount some of our favorite pics that we took during our travels. Also some that we found while traveling. Sure makes a difference when in the camper and I do have one really nice NASCAR painting of Daytona track. Later RJD

When the right thing come along it will be a right fit. We spent 3 years looking for the right trailer. You have invested in upgrading the Sabre mechanically. Now some paint! Have fun with this !

Simple solution, buy a used unit, for cash, and customize it to your liking.

Yeah no kids for us all 4 boys are out so just us. I was looking at the Heartland Warrior 427 and Jayco Seismic 4212 before we found our Crusader, might want to take a peek at those as well

BTW someone explain SOB? Please

I get that I'm supposed to be "camping" but we were never "campers" in this thing. For us, it's a rolling hotel room/now apartment.

What I really want is a mid-bunk that has an extra 1/2-bath but have yet to find that.

What we did come across is a floorplans and YouTube videos for a Grand Design Momentum 395M. The living area is unique. It still has a dining room table. I'd give up the outdoor kitchen but gain a full-size residential fridge. And the garage is an empty slate for a bunkroom for the kids. The biggest issue is we don't have a pull-out sofa for the in-laws and the basement size is anemic if you get the built-in generator.

Kicking the idea around and trying to find one in person to see...

I completely understand what you are talking about. That's why we went with the floorplan we chose. Plenty of room for entertaining, and we weren't looking across the kitchen to the TV. Ours wouldn't be right for you, but I get it about the seating being all in row.
