I can not really complain about the Serta mattress that came with my Rockwood. It is comfortable... Question is: How well will it hold up? If it starts getting uncomfortable, I will buy something new.

We bought a 10 inch memory foam mattress. All I did was look online for a short queen memory foam mattress and found one.. Love it.

ours came with some kind of recycled crap, felt like old cotton wadding inside. I sold it at a yard sale and bought a memory foam from Amazon for about $300 and it sleeps great. By the way, I am over 200 pounds and have had 6 back surgeries, so you can believe I know what feels good or bad.

When working, I traveled 6-8 months out of the year. Some of the worst sleeping beds/mattresses were in some of the most expensive hotels.

The first trailer we had had the worst mattresses on the face of the earth. I was more comfortable sleeping in the back seat of my truck. With this Rockwood, we added a 2" foam topper and it sleeps just as good (if not better) than the mattress we have at home.

After 2 years of trying to sleep comfortably in our fifth wheel, we decided to start looking for a new mattress. After checking all the ads and going to a mattress store we decided to get the Nectar mattress which came in a bag directly to our trailer. The best part about the mattress is it comes with a 365-day trial. If you don't like it they will pick it up free of charge. We slept on it for a week now and we love it.

Just an FYI.

Major truck dealerships(Semi) sell mattresses to their customers and carry all major brands in a variety of custom sizes. My buddy works at one and say they sell over 100 mattresses per week.

For what it's worth...

My Puma came with barely above hay bales for a mattress, but some come with really nice gel foam mattresses. You gotta pay to play I guess.

Air and foam mattresses are the worst. We went through that. Finished up getting an innerspring, custom made to fit the space and it was just a little bit more expensive than foam. Foam will always feel soft until about an hour into the night, then it's like cement. Foam deteriorates and leaves flakes everywhere (unless sealed in a bag). Memory foam is an oxymoron. Innerspring (pocketed) is and always will be more comfortable and durable. Look around, you might be surprised at what you can find. Of course weight (of the mattress) may be an issue, but wasn't for us.

Our 287BDHS came with a full 60x80" queen mattress which I like because it is on the firm side. We added a "My Pillow" pillow top to it which is several inches thick and really makes it much more comfortable. That, along with our "My Pillow" pillows makes it as comfortable as being as home.

Research out this outfit. Theirs seems to be a quality product at a reasonable price. Scroll down the page and check out the videos and information. Well worth your time.

The mattress that came in our Cedar Creek was a king Trump, it sleeps better that the $2,000.00 bed does in our house

Purchase whatever mattress will work for you now. I did and am much more comfortable on the new mattress I purchased for my (then) new TT instead of suffering with the mattress that came in the TT.

X2. Ours also came with a queen Trump series. It really does sleep better than what we have in our house.

We also ensure that every fiver we buy has a regular size queen. Better for me and easier to buy whatever sheets we want.

I believe the Dynamax OEM mattress was a Serta and, it was TERRIBLE. The second year I had my DX3, I had it changed to an Indiana Bedding foam mattress which has been WONDERFUL. ProCustomInc in Elkhart, IN handled that switch (as well as upgrading the other "eye candy" Dynamax furniture that was NOWHERE near comfortable. The "king" OEM mattress was shorter and narrower than standard bedding. I had to buy king sized bedding which was always sloppy. I had ProCustom install a true queen width (60"). It could only be 76" long because of space constraints with the slide in but, standard queen linens fit fine (and are less expensive than king bedding).

Ditto with our Cardinal, sleep much better in the RV than at home.

Wow how soft we have gotten. Our first camper did not come with a mattress you had two pull out couches with thin foam cushions to sleep on...... Sad now we are complaining about a poor quality mattress in a camper. Really???

It is a camper not a house..................................

Camping sure is not camping and enjoying nature and being away anymore......sad..

have fun forget the minor things............
