Bell expressvu news

While at the nascar races in Bristol Tennessee, I was unable to get a satellite signal from Bell. I called Winegard (the dish mfgr) for tech advice. They informed me that Ma Bell has limited the signal entering the US. We will no longer be able to receive their signal in Myrtle Beach, Florida or Texas. In fact, if you are any where south of Pennsylvania, you will not get a signal. We stopped in Erie PA on the way home and got a good signal there. Areas close to the border will still receive one.
If you GOOGLE satellite footprint, you can see where the Bell signal reaches.
Tough news when you pay for something you can't get!

We used Bell a few years back and they had policy of disabling your SmartCard if they found you watched TV outside Canada. They claimed their broadcast licence only permitted them to provide service within Canada, but were unable to restrict the sat signals to Canada. Perhaps technology has improved. We switched to Shaw Direct and thy say It's ok to watch in AZ.
