Best Insurance Company to Use
I am changing up my home & auto insurance with another company. Problem is the company (Travelers) does not offer RV insurance. So I will be shopping for a company that can handle just my 23' camper. Can anyone offer a company that has great prices and will insure only a RV?
Thanks.

Progressive handles all our vehicles and home - when you do this you get reduced rates as well.

We have used Geico for our autos for 20 years, and now have our MH covered with them.

I started out with Blue Sky (referral from dealer) and compared it from an offer thru my own agent at Farm Bureau, where I have everything else. He said that the coverage was comparable, but for the extra 50$ a year, he would go with the BS policy, as it had great coverage for guests, that might get injured in or around our 5th wheel. So, we went with BS. No claims in the first year. But wait, the second year premium went up 50%! Needless to say, we're now with Farm Bureau for everything, except the motorcycles, as Progressive had better coverage less expensive.
Good luck with whoever you choose!

We use Nationwide. Have our vehicles and homeowners insurance with them also. When our travel trailer was rear ended by an uninsured motorist, they handled everything and treated us well.

You might try Overland Insurance Services and compare prices and coverage to the other companies. They are an agent and rep several companies ( ours is with Nat'l Interstate)
For us they offered good coverage and rate. And we only have our motor home insured with them.
Their website is : RV Insurance Quote - Motorhome, Travel Trailer & Fifth Wheel
Good luck!

Insurance
Have been on Good Sam (National General) and had a claim. It was well handled.
Almost switched to Progressive, but Good Sam Affiliate via National General has 'replacement value' as opposed to 'cash value' in the event of a total loss.
Decided to stay with Good Sam - even though $100 more annually.

Whoever you get, ensure that they cover RV's, and RV Contents. Most 'add onto car policy' companies often do not cover many things, including contents......which is why they are much cheaper.
I liked Progressive's ability to choose, the disappearing deductible that starts very high to lower premiums, and the 5 year replacement at then-MSRP price.
But.......realize this. The exact policy in one state is very different than another. You can't ask a guy in Maine or California for cost advice if you live in Nebraska (e.g.).

Like mentioned before, I went through a broker and they/I went with National Interstate. The broker I dealt with was Miller Insurance:
Miller Insurance Agency
While insurance shopping, I also talked to the folks at RV Insurance Pro:

Does anyone else see the irony that a company called Travelers doesn't cover a vehicle designed to be traveled in/with?

I was with Good Sam carrier, but found that GEICO was much cheaper for better coverage. And for $20 a year you get great roadside assistance. MH broke down on the freeway in Arizona, called GEICO and they sent a BIG wrecker which towed us 55 miles at no charge to me. And my rates with GEICO did NOT go up.

I have Progressive for all my vehicles so I went with them for the MH. First year was $435.00. Pretty good. Next year it was over $800.00, same coverage and no claims. Needless to say I dropped them and went with Allied. So far, so good.

Went to Progressive for RV insurance based on the recommendation of my Grange agent. I ended up bundling everything with Progressive and saved a whole lot of money. Happy with their customer service. Check them out.

I would highly recommend Progressive. I had a claim last year and they had an adjuster in my driveway within a day or 2, he went over the TT with a fine tooth comb and even found some damage I did not see. Bottom line I had a check in hand within a week. And since I live way out in the boonies he told me about a repair shop about an hour away and they did a great job. Progressive did a fantastic job and I think everyone should give them a try.
